Preamble: I am neither Mary Poppins nor Sigmund Freud,,,i have been around the block and my naivite left me a longtime ago so anyone who knows me or has read my posts knows I can stand toe to toe with anyone.....should I chose to do so......BUT..

Why the fuck are some guys filled with such a streak of chewing on someone elses ass? What do you get out of life by being a prick? Everyone has the inner spirit to be good and share that with others, but some here, choose day in and day out to be irrascible, caustic, disagreeable and venomous shitheads When you see the need to constantly attack someone else and hurt their spirit, it only indicates that you have some deeply unresolved self esteem issues within your own spirit.

I'm not talkiing about those trolls who have been around with their foolishness, i'm talking about regular guys here on RJ. I'm no virgin when it comes to throwing some nasty shit, but I don't make a living off it....

So gentlemen,,,,isn't it high fucking time we started policing our own barracks here and coaching these guys or stopping them at the gate?...... or what do you think??

I totally agree. I don't think we have to name anyone, they know who they are.

But some people around here, grown up men, are acting so foolishly annoying. I can understand someone has a bad day and doesn't feel like being sweet and everything. Then I'd suggest you just don't connect and come to the forums.

But if being a nasty bitch is more like your lifestyle, then I think you really have a problem.

We've spent the weeks talking about the mortal impact of bullying, isn't it enough ? Bullying doesn't only apply to dumb guys over gay victims, it's EVERYWHERE. Sadly, even here, on the RJ forums, and on a way too big scale.

Maybe somebody posts something he thinks is funny about someone. But the other one doesn't see it as funny at all. So he rips the first one a whole new asshole. But rather than the first one discerning his joke wasn't funny to the second one and apologize, he gets all wrapped up on his victimhood, not realizing that he started it.

Then all that is left to be said is..,

    And they're off!

    It could happen.

Perhaps the OP should be putting his mind and sensitivity in gear before his mouth and fingers. Some of these so called 'humourous' digs do nothing but hurt and that is not humour, it is just plain ignoranticon_cool.gif

This looks quite familiar to me... icon_sad.gif

I don't know if policing is necessary... Some people need to grow up and start acting like respectable adults. You can't make anyone do that. They have to want to do that.

It seems like some people get a satisfaction of insulting or denigrating someone online who will perhaps never meet them in real life. There is such a thing as online etiquette.

Well, we'll always have those 97 posts you made throughout the course of your 9 month RJ membership to treasure at least.

Interesting comment. In the US Army we had "put down" humor, which I still practice. So does my partner, who also served in uniform.

I guess when you have a bunch of young men all crammed together, bursting with testosterone, and being trained how to kill other people, there needs to be some way of letting off steam. Otherwise we would have slaughtered each other, instead of the enemy.

So we had this put-down humor thing, a way of dealing with the aggression in a non-lethal way. And people who know my partner & me call us Abbott & Costello, or Laurel & Hardy (for those old enough to know who they were, as most of our close friends are), because we go into these comedy routines, where we insult each other with equal zest, and make everyone laugh. I think it's one of the reasons many people think we've been together over 30 years, instead of just over 3.

The fault for me is that I'll use this same put-down humor with guys who don't know anything about it. And they get all offended and bent out of shape, some of them right here on RJ. And of course it's my bad, because they don't know where I'm coming from, and it's my job not to offend, to understand my audience.

But I still think put-dpwn humor is a masculine butch thing, and I like it, and will try it whenever I think I can get away with it. Oh hell, fuck the pansies who get offended. I don't wanna bother with their lame asses, anyway. icon_razz.gif

Why take on the pointless task of trying to get others to be nice when you have to power to overlook their attacks? Seems much more convenient to have the power in your own hands than to give it away. Unless you want something to bitch about.

The only trees used are for the CEO's who have their secretaries print out stuff because CEO's don't need to learn computers.

The things we need to worry about are the chips used in computers. Chips are made of silicon (and other stuff.) If everybody on earth gets a computer, the demand for silicon (sand) will result in NO MORE BEACHES. Oh, wait, silicon is in dirt, too? Never mind.

What would be the point? The forum is built around open communication and some here provide my eyes w/ shallowness, hostility, crazy and racist thoughts and others see it as Funny, witty, sensible and tolerant. I don't want to police anyone. Only see you how you present yourself. The road to hell for some was/is paved w/ good intentions and what might seem as a good idea in the beginning might later be a bunch of bully's in the end.icon_eek.gif
