Last night, Oct 7, at a fundraiser party for a SMART Ride bicycle team, that had a 1970s theme. Trust me, guys, the camera flash made my cheap synthetic wig glow, it wasn't quite so laughable in ambient light. But I fear the rest of me was... icon_redface.gif

Worse, we really did look like this, back in the day... icon_rolleyes.gif

Us, too! There may be a couple more of these before the ride in mid-Novbember, I'll send you e-mail, didn't know you'd be interested. This one was at The Manor in Wilton Manors. I can send you the entire uncropped pic if I have your private e-mail, showing C. alongside me. He looks like Truman Capote being a pimp, he'd break my arms if I posted it online here.

OMG, LMAO!!! Please tell me you're not going to submit that pic above to the people of Wal-Mart site, or whatever it's called. I know the image qualifies in its grotesqueness, but I wasn't at Wal-Mart, honestly!

LOL! I just love to have silly, stupid fun. I figure so long as I can do that, I won't be as old as I really am. Did that make sense? icon_question.gif

LOL! Honestly, I didn't dress like this in the late 60s-early 70s, nor have hair like that. I knew lots of guys who did, though, and that's what I was copying. I suppose the only period thing I wore back then were bell bottoms, because they disguised my slightly bowed legs. And also fit over my motorcycle boots.

What a crazy time that was. Nothing much comparable to it has happened since.

Well apparently you were not 'seriously drunk'! LOL
I hate it when someone gets all maudlin after drinking! I prefer the company of happy drunks, like you! icon_wink.gif

Oh, I was seriously drunk, alright. And I do get happier, until I pass out. I'm told I later fell asleep against a railing there, standing up! I'm not sure I believe that, but I have no memory to counter that claim.

The downside is that when I'm sobering up, usually the next day, I can get grouchy & mean. I'm a happy drunk, but a bitch when hung over. icon_redface.gif

Ya know, I never once wore a peace sign in the 60s or 70s. In fact, I was rather conservative, and preppy, didn't even own that stuff. And then I joined the US Army in 1969, and mostly wore a uniform for 25 years, and short regulation haircuts.

Maybe that's why I find it so funny now, to parody what I never was. Yet all my civilian friends were. It was indeed a crazy time.

southbeach1500 saidAnd to this day Mr. Deco "denies" being a drunk!

What I don't deny is making fun of myself, with a good degree of exaggeration. The truth is I rarely get drunk, it's merely a convenient excuse to explain my sometimes silly behavior. I'd rather have people think I was drunk than acting that stupid while sober. And apparently you didn't read the entire thread, which debunks your slander.

What YOU deny is being a demented stalker, who trolls around for my old posts, to make out-of-context personal attacks on me like this last one.

There are plenty of sites online where you can get help, not only for this disorder, but also for your Obama obsession. If you can research me in minutia this well online, surely you can find the sites that might help you with your disability.

(BTW, thanks for reposting that pic. I think it's one of my silliest. And I made lots of money for HIV/AIDS causes that night. icon_biggrin.gif

What have YOU ever done for the gay community? Oh, wait, you aren't gay, are you? )

OMG, thank you! So I'm locked into an early 1970s look? icon_rolleyes.gif

Nor was I seriously drunk there, despite my thread title. I was just trying to excuse my outrageous appearance. I'm actually rather reserved, prim & proper, and something like that is wild way beyond my usual behavior.

So I had to blame it on something. Truth is I left our place like that completely sober. With my husband done up as a pimp from that same era. All for a '70s theme fundraiser.

Absolutely disgraceful, it was so much fun! I have a pic of us with the CEO of United Way, looking totally trashy in her theme costume, too. I can send it to you privately, if you like.

A few months ago I made a worse mistake sober.

A friend had invited me to some gay maybe-A-list annual party (I don't keep up) in a Village penthouse for a few years in a row and I'd kept declining because I didn't want to schlep into the city. But I finally caved and this year it had a Disco 1977 theme.

So I dressed exactly how I dressed in 1977 at 15 going to Disco Night at my local roller rink. Grew a two-day old mustache and parted my hair in the middle. Found a tight pair of vintage-look blue basketball shorts with red and white piping at the hems and paired it with knee-high white tube socks with horizontal blue stripes at the top and a super tight orange, taupe and chocolate brown t-shirt that perfectly matched the hideous leather chocolate brown, taupe and tan Sketchers I was wearing. The look was perfect, and for the train ride in I wore it discreetly under my conservative seersucker bermuda shorts and woven solid polo shirt with the socks rolled down wearing sneakers with the hideous Sketcher throwbacks stuffed in a small gym bag.

But I made one teensy mistake.

    It was a Disco 1977 playlist. Not a Disco 1977 theme/costume party.

I wound up the unintended entertainment.

I don't drink. Being seriously drunk would've helped.

If I had to use alcohol as an excuse everytime I looked trashy I would have to walk around with a permanent Bourbon I.V. drip to make it believable.

And YES. I MUST see the incriminating pic You speak of above!!!
