Ehanson said...After she told me she had a feeling, she told me to be careful of guys who want to take advantage of me when I move to NYC, not to get involved with doing porn and to always practice safe sex. She was slightly disappointed I didn't tell her earlier. I guess she'll tell my father tonight or tomorrow.
After a bit of initial awkwardness wore off, it's back to normal: "Don't forget to take the garbage out." lol
Don't get involved with doing porn? That's both funny & innocently charming at the same time. Congrats on this important step. Does your Father know yet?
Parents often know sooner than you suspect. It wasn't until my 40s that I learned both my parents always knew, and shared their concerns with my sister when I enlisted in the US Army at age 20. They were less concerned about the Vietcong killing me in Vietnam than about my fellow soldiers turning on me if they realized I was gay.
Then later they again told my sister they thought my getting married at 29 was a big mistake. They were right, a disastrous error on my part. And I kinda faulted them for never having shared all this with me. They knew I was gay before I did, yet we never talked about it, nor anything sexual, not even the birds & bees talk, and now they're gone. One of my great regrets in life.
So I envy you, and other guys who can discuss this with parents and family. Be grateful you have such a Mother, and I hope your Father takes it well, too.
