Oh shit Chucky NO HE DI'INT JUST CALL YOU A FOOL.

I buy my computer parts at the Apple Store.

But if you're talking about USED parts, eBay works perfectly fine if you're smart about what you're buying and from whom.

It's o.k. LOL. He even looks the part, huh?

At any rate, Ebay rates their sellers. There's constant feedback within the buying cycle that's up there for everyone to see.

My personal Ebay shopping experience has been superb with my expectations exceeded every time on top of getting some great buys. E.g., the cpu on this box cost $22 on Ebay.

I did get a good laugh when I saw that, but BIGBUBBA1972, and his other profiles GAYPACKERSDUDE1972 and GAYNATURELOVER, has been providing me with a lot of humor and entertainment here in the threads lately.

I'm at a loss here. Why would you not buy computer parts online? Of anything to buy online, computer parts would be the BEST things to get. You can research the EXACT part, read reviews, etc... And, they're almost always guaranteed for a certain amount of time. Add to that almost instant (and usually free) shipping, but no driving all over town to find the right part, and you have an all-around winner.

I just bought memory, hard drives, and three replacement laptop case parts online. Actually, I buy almost everything online.

    What's your holdup?

Oh yeah, if you're going to get your parts at Best Buy or some other local store, expect to pay almost three times the amount you'd pay online (including shipping and tax).

    Good luck.

Best place is online. If you insist on brick'n'mortar, go to Best Buy:

    4090 Commonwealth Ave
    Eau Claire, WI 54701

I don't know why you wouldn't want to buy online...

I have heard good things about Newegg.com in the US.

NCIX is a great place for anyone in Canada. They have retail stores as well as online ncix.com

They have a huge selection and lots of sales all the time.

They also price match so using a site like pricebat.ca you can sometimes
find a better deal (ncix is usually the best though).

OP, you asked for comments on the best and worst places to buy computer parts, then when someone provides their insight/opinion, you blast them for it?

    What's the point?

No, you're just notorious for asking advice about a variety of subjects and then criticizing that advice, arguing with it, and being thankless to the people who took a moment to offer you their thoughts.

There's some things you should never buy online or in the mail and electronics is one of them.I bought a portable cd player in the mail
from finger hut years ago and it was a piece of trash. It only lasted
    me a few months.

Why are you buying things from Finger Hut? Get your gear from Amazon or some company that sells brand name items. Also, if you're buying a brand name, the manufacturer will have a warranty. Also, if you buy with an Amex, they also cover you on warranty. It doesn't matter as much WHERE you buy it, it matters WHAT you buy.

The problem is you bought low-end crap from a low-end retailer, not that you bought it online. I live in Bumfuck Iowa, and I buy lots of stuff online because the selection is better, and it saves me the 30-60 minute drive to where I might or might not find what I'm looking for. It can also be a lot cheaper. For example, I bought two 50" Sony LCD TVs from J&R because their price plus shipping was hundreds of dollars less per TV than Best Buy's price plus sales tax.

For computer parts, I recommend http://www.newegg.com/. And, do read the product reviews that people post on the site; they can give you a good feel for the quality of the product.

I won't buy anything online until I find myself some local gay single male friends who are experts on online shopping.I won't let online strangers or
offline strangers help me out with my shopping at all.

Fry's has lots of cool buys but many folks that work there are idiots, and some of the merchandise is defective / DOA. You may have a hard time finding someone at Fry's who speaks American English, as well.

As a general rule, I can buy anything on Ebay for about another 10% to 30% off, and not have to pay state sales tax, so the cost savings can be substantial.

It's very apparent that BigBubba has some issues, but, perhaps, other folks will garner some insight from the postings.
