Are you serious about that last comment? Our president is not facing people throwing rocks at us at parades or even at annual public fuckfests (Folsom).

Serbia has always had problems with homophobia

But now ... the government wants in to the European Union and to do that it has to conform to its Equal Rights Laws
which is why the government is standing up to the rioters

I am from Belgrade Serbia so dont worry i was waching the riots our police has kiked thear ass, that guys that are making the problems at the Praide was urested and will be sentenced from 1-8 years but the mayority of that guys there was from 15 to 22 years old so its a bit of a problem but not much people was there making problems approximately 200 people. The gay guys here are like a tabu many people dont like that but many feel that there is no need for violence but in some time it will all be good and Serbia will be as any other country in Europe. The real heroes where the police that suffered much for the Parade.2 cars where burned and one billding was put on fire but it was fast put out some of windows where broken but what you would hear on TV from that guys that are from ultra nationalist groups thay promised more violence but i knew thay could not do anthing to stay in a way of Pride.I am not a tipe of guy that would ewer go to the Pride Parade but i am happy for the arrests of nationalists.

Hey Caslon, Obama went a lot further.

    "Obama signs hate crimes bill

Updated: Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 | By Catharine Richert

President Barack Obama has signed a bill to expand the federal hate crimes law.

The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, named after two men who were killed more than 10 years ago because of their sexual orientation, was included in a defense bill that Obama signed on Oct. 28, 2009.

"After more than a decade of opposition and delay, we've passed hate crimes legislation to help protect our citizens from violence based on what they look like, who they love, how they pray, or who they are," Obama said.

The law essentially expands the current statute to include any crime instigated by a person's gender, sexual orientation or disability.

The signing was hailed by gay rights groups.

"Today's signing of the first major piece of civil rights legislation to protect LGBT Americans represents a historic milestone in the inevitable march towards equality," said Human Rights Campaign president Joe Solmonese.

Meanwhile, over 300 servicemembers are discharged under DADT during Obama's presidency. He has the power of executive order to suspend these discharges, but he doesn't.

If comparisons between the Serbian prez and Obama are being made, you need to look at the Serbian army and the treatment of gays in it. icon_wink.gif

Serbian military accept gay guys in their military and has full support of the Ministry of Defence.

And one more thing if some gay guy comes to Belgrade he would haw a great time here i am sure you just no need to go around ant tell people on the strret that you are gay or somthing my city is much tourist friendly. And you need to know you haw here some stupid kids that no mater what is the occasion they just want to go and bracke around the city, thay knew that there would be no chance thay could do somthing to the Prade parade so thay sead lets just go and brake stuff, thay where so lucky that the Minister of internal affairs had baned the use of rubber bullets.
