    Definitely not the ipad's demise. But it's a good option for those people that don't want to get stuck in Apple's walled garden. I think it will fulfill certain niche industries where a tablet device is needed, and a closed software environment is not wanted.

    I heard Samsung will be offering a wifi only version, as well as a version for each of the major cell phone carriers. I find it cool/interesting that Samsung is committing to the Android platform. This is a nice big push for open source.

    front+back camera, 649 for retail price for t-mobile, 399 for 2yr contract, super amoled. and flash. -> 3G

    I think in a lot of ways it trumps the ipad [size, weight, power,tech]

    but it doesn't have the vast collection of apps that Apple has. [or the name backing.]



    I'm personally not ready for tablets and I don't think they're useful for the common consumer. Many people that I know with ipads haven't used them in weeks since purchase. I can only understand the need in the medical field and for really bored people with money to blow. I think the tablet craze will fade soon and pick up heavily in 5 more years.


    That said...if I HAD to buy one....I'd go Android.
