When was the last time you went on vacation and you just goofed off? Not a care in the world.

    No cell phone ...

    No computer ...

Just took a break from EVERYTHING ...

I'm in need of that right now since it's been a LONG TIME since I have.

    What about you?

I think the last time I goofed off was Ptown 3 years ago. That was a blast!

in july, was in mexico for about a week at my parents house on a bay. .. it was nice to go play in the sea, but once it was night i wanted to be back in the world of technology . . . it's not joyous for me to be away from cities etc.

Puerto Vallarta, February 2010. Lots of other people paid for international service. I left my phone in the states and just lounged on the beach with the breeze on my face and a drink in hand.

my most relaxing vacation in 11 years was this past august in the outer banks of north carolina. although it was only 8 weeks ago, it feels like ages....lol

by the monday (day 3 of my vacation), i let go of the cell phone, checking work email and voice mail...and enjoyed that all the way through sunday of the following weekend.

it was heaven. i needed that desperately.

I'd say 3 years ago. It was before I had a "smartphone" so I didn't have access to facebook and all that crap, I was still texting and stuff, but it was the closest thing to getting away from it all...but I was in Vegas so...icon_twisted.gif

I think it was 1992 or 1993. And it took half the week to figure out what to do. Oh yeah... nothing.

Although I've had a number of 2 - 4 hour "vacations" this summer. Put the hobie cat in the water and just think about the wind and the sails for a while. (Oh, and the barges.)

This is for the helpless ... Do research before you go and figure out what you wanna do and do it.

You may have to talk to people face to face instead of using text or IMing. It can be done.

Every summer, at my family's cabin. No internet, no tv, spotty cell reception, just a lake, sauna, and lofted cabin. It's my favorite time of the year.

Of course, being retired means you are not allowed to goof off. icon_rolleyes.gif
