Apparently the MPAA feels there should be a separate classification for male nudity since it is worse than female to kids. Your thoughts?

DNRTA: Are womens groins considered equal to mens in terms of the scariness quotient? Mens chests are obviously less scary than womens in the movies.

    /just a thought

Edit: Oh I see, never mind. Still, it's not often you see vagina in films, and certainly not in below R movies.

The phallus must be hidden and protected for fear that women, girls and boys might want it more than they should.... icon_confused.gif

You take your kids to Bruno and you think you have any right to complain about what they were exposed to?

I really don't like the corrupt MPAA anyways; censorship has no place in a 'free' society.

This is where I get iffy with the MPAA. Don't get me wrong, I don't like it either.... but censorship? Hardly. It's not a public entity and it is not a crime to violate it's recommendations. If you want your kids to see a movie, they can see it, be it at home, or in the theaters. In the end, it's not government censoring our viewing. It's the big movie distributors.

Far too many parents are fine with their kids watching a movie where people get shot, stabbed, blown up, etc., etc., yet they go ballistic over the possibility of them seeing a naked man in a film.

Apparently the nature form of the human body (specifically in this case, the male form) is something to be ashamed of and shunned.

What are we teaching our kids by censoring nudity of men?

No wonder we have complexes about showing the naked form; it is always cast in a negative light (that is, humorously enough, except in the adult industry).

What we are teaching our kids is that you sell more movie tickets by not upsetting certain people.

As for negative images of nudity, one might well make an argument that the entire porn industry depends on the perception that doing something "wrong" and watching it is fun.

    That's what I'll never understand.
Violence is ok, but genitalia is bad.
Maybe they'd feel more comfortable if the movie showed people getting shot, stabbed, and blown up while nude?

But the reality is that films are cut, cut, cut to fit certain ratings. Can you make movies that violate their standards? Absolutely. X-tube is full of movies that do not meet their standards. But I certainly wont see Billy Fuck Biff On the Portico on the big screen anytime soon.

They should go differentiate further. If the presence of a penis is more grotesque than the presence of tits and bush, then surely the presence of a Black penis is worse because it is on average larger, but the presence of an Asian penis is better because it is on average smaller. After all if we want to appeal to the prejudice minds of straight males and give opportunities so they can decide not to see a movie with penis, then we might as well elaborate on what kind of penis they are about to see.

We can only hope. If you haven't watched This Film is Not Yet Rated you should. It is a really good documentary about the whole process. It also focuses on how the MPAA is truly a censorship organization. Without their approval films have a really hard time getting out to the public. It also documents how any kiss or activity between men is rated NC17 when just as explicit straight scenes are R.

They want to hide male nudity in movies, then why not ban public showers etc too, for your child could traumatized for ever seeing all those dicks in there. Some people just love living under double standards.

Many facilities have shower stalls now, though.

Do you think there is good news to this?

How many times have you seen "nudity" and hoped to see penis but all you saw was vagina and boobs?

Well NOW you know you can see penis if you read "male nudity." While this gender segregation helps homophobes not look at penis (and give females the default "nudity" instead of "female nudity" which is complete bullshit), it also helps me avoid looking at a movie dedicated to stripping women of their clothes, which is completely disgusting to me.

Yea we need a completely new system, maybe something like this:

    care_instructions.png

But then to indicate boobs and penises and their prevalence...

This is good, but I hope they go further to differentiate RACE too, cuz I wanna see some Latin dick, and Blatino dick too especially. BTW I can draft a mock-new version of this...just not right now....6 more days until I fail my GRE test.
