I still need to pack for my trip to NOLA, which starts tomorrow. I already did the research and have a few places I want to visit and try. Here's hoping for a fun-filled few days. Oh well....I need to pack. icon_biggrin.gif

Oh my gosh....my last night in NOLA was such a blast. I had a real nice dinner at NOLA restaurant and a cool waiter with a funny sense of humor. Since I was by myself, I sat up at the end of the bar near the kitchen and got to see the "organized chaos". I chatted on and off with two ladies that were also at the booth, mostly off. Then this older guy came and sat between one of the ladies and myself and was chatting up a storm. It ended up he did marketing work for a major cable company and he had the inside track to getting in free at The House of Blues.

I don't know whether or not he was trying to pick up on the ladies but he offered them a chance to get in House of Blues and because I happened to be sitting on the other side, he also invited me as well.

My mind kept going into "Criminal Minds" territory thinking maybe it was all a ruse to lure the three of us into some dungeon and somehow I fit the profile of some black guy who did something traumatic in his life and the two ladies could've represented girls who rejected him. One of the ladies even whispered to me as we left the restaurant that she was glad I was coming along even though he appeared harmless.

Thankfully he was harmless and after a little bit of working the front desk area, he was able to get the three of us inside. I got a couple free beers and an ill fitting judge's robe costume along with beads and a mask...and rocked to the group JD & The Straight Shooters playing various Bob Marley and The Rolling Stones tunes.

That was a nice way to end my trip. So tomorrow morning I'll make one last run to Cafe Du Monde (yeah it's a bit overhyped but it is really good) before I check out and head back home.
