U.S. Chamber of Commerce - a bit of a mixed message

Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I tried looking for the topic and didn't see it.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is running ads targeting Democrat candidates for the loss of jobs in their respective states. One ad targets Richard Bluemethal, a Connecticut senator hopeful for his "job-killing lawsuits." Another is aimed at Robin Carnahan, who's running for senator in the state of Missouri. The ad reports that in the past two years, Missouri lost 120,000 jobs.

And here's the mixed message... U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO urges companies to outsource jobs, claiming its benefits outweighs the cost.

In Connecticut, 87,500 jobs in the past 16 years have been lost to outsourcing. While 102,608 jobs in Missouri since 2008 were given to those outside the United States.

So who are they fooling? Apparently Glenn Beck, as he announced on his radio show that he's cutting the U.S. Chamber of Commerce a check in the amount of $10,000 for their support of business. And it's the Republicans criticizing the Democrats for stagnating job growth?

if in fact there are foreign dollars coming in from such countries as those who directly benefit from outsourcing, then it's just smoke & mirrors. it's not a mixed message, it's purposeful manipulation of public sentiment to push an agenda.

I know. I was just pointing out their hypocrisy. I don't really believe they care about job loss. They should though as loss of jobs means loss of revenue for businesses.

Unfortunately many people are believing the illusion. I'm not sure if it's on the Rachel Maddow clip I posted, but I saw a snippet of a Fox segment where they claimed Obama had a "conspiracy" that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce was receiving foreign funding. Yet, there is evidence that foreign companies that tout themselves as the best for outsourcing did donate to them.
