We all know about overflows of test/estro here, but my obs since joining the team have been that many guys seem to exhibit what I used to refer to as 'red flag' days. My opinion only, no judgement implied, perceived or intended. So, the question thrown onto the floor is; do you think gay men experience emotional periods akin to the menstrual cycle in women?

As always, I invite your intelligent and mature input only, and gentleman, the floor is now open......Keithicon_cool.gif

    Absolutely not.

I don't believe testosterone production is subject to monthly cycles. Or that, the mood swings men have are regulated by a cycle that has ground in the workings of the body.

    Everybody has red flag days....

No, I don't think "gay" men experience genuine emotional periods akin to the menstrual cycle in women because "gay" men are not women and, thus, wouldn't have an emotional cycle dependent upon menstruation.

The bitch carries over and doubles due to shorter months like February.

Not in a cycle, but I do notice when I have higher levels of testosterone and when my metabolism spikes.

About those hormone imbalances in women, the reason why it happens, biologically speaking, is because there are certain chemical responses to a menstruation period involving estrogen that are part of moving the egg into a position in the fallopian tube for impregnation. We men, even the effeminate men, don't have eggs, fallopian tubes or get those kinds of chemical spikes to cause mood swings.

I will admit that i do have days where i'm overly aggitated by just about anything. Someone could say hi to me on one of these days where they were half asleep and for some reason i'd feel offended. On some days it's okay to joke around with me and then on some days i feel like i get overly irritated by comments. Usually when this happens i just tell people i'm PMSing in an attempt to be somewhat humorous but also with a serious message as to not joke around with me on those days.

I hate saying things i do not mean, however it doesn't mean that i won't say something brash or hurtful on those days if im constantly being teased. After the fact of me lashing out, i tend to feel really guilty and i do apologize.

Often times when you see me being very quite, or you don't find me as responsive as normal that's a clear indicator that im not having a good day. I'd rather just be quiet and ignore the world and have people leave me alone on those days then be teased and me lashing out for no reason.

    Absolutely yes

I am in a 98% dominated woman's field. I can tell within a couple of days when those bitches are on their periods because I feel the same wayicon_sad.gif

    I've always been like that.

I know you didn't mean biological. The message I was trying to convey is that if men in general don't experience a certain something, then you shouldn't expect "gay" men specifically to experience something that isn't the result of cultural effeminacy typically attributed to men who are attracted to the same sex.

Yes, gays have "that time of month."
Watch closely and you'll see it even in the forums.

Maybe you just came out of the closet too fast and are just confused between men and women. Slow it down.
