Wish I could, but I can't run any more (I get a severe headache for 3-4 days every time I try to run).

There are some great places to go running in NY. Prospect Park and Central Park are beautiful, of course. I used to run along the East River from the East Village to the Staten Island Ferry in the South Street Seaport - some great views along the water. You can also run for a long ways along the Hudson River on Riverfront Drive. It's one of the most scenic routes I've taken (I used to run along it when I lived in Washington Heights).

You could check out Front Runners: http://www.frny.org/ as well.

You're welcome. Let me know what you think. I thought about joining before I had to stop running.

Just watch out for traffic - I've nearly been run over way too many times.

I just moved to NYC also, just a couple of days ago actually and I'm always open to meeting new people. But I'm not much of a runner, I'm more of a walker- I walk everywhere.

Running in Central Park is probably not a good idea on the walking paths considering all the tourists everywhere, especially in the south end of the park. I saw some guy running near the 59th Street entrance and thought "he's going to knock someone down."

Running around the Reservoir is the best place in to run in Central Park.

Hey Hale, Come to CA instead. Moderate weather like Tel Aviv and you can run year round without freezing your a$$ off.

i live just off central park on the upper west side, so my running and biking tends to be in central park (the resevoir or along the park drive, which is closed to traffic most of the day and all weekend) or along the west side highway. nyc is great for running. but it's also great for biking, kayaking, sailing, rock climbing, squash, swimming, soccer, hockey, you name it, there is a fun group for almost any sport.

    welcome!
