i don't know if anyone knows of a possible good protein supplement for me, so i figure i'd just go ahead and ask.

i have crohn's disease so i can't consume excessive quantities of glutamine or any of its derivatives. trust me, i learned the hard way. does anyone know of any protein supplement that i could try that doesn't have a load of glutamine in it? otherwise it looks like i'll be pounding egg whites to the face.

Go to http://www.trueprotein.com/ and click through to the protein listings. Most of the proteins there have an amino acid profile. I checked out a few, and hemp protein has less glutamic acid than egg white protein. The whole egg protein also has less glutamic acid than the egg white protein.

thanks! that's actually really helpful. for me it's pretty much the percentage of glutamic acid and it's precursors in it. 7g versus 13g can be a big difference. i'll probably try some kind of egg white protein, especially since eggs don't bother me one bit. and thank god because i eat eggs everyday for breakfast.

there are also noodles that are made of egg whites only.

the NoYolk brand is one. You get pretty good protein to serving ratio.
