    Oh I love this story:

Hispanic Kids Look 'More Asian' to Sharron Angle

Notorious dingbat Sharron Angle, Harry Reid's Nevada Senate challenger, addressed a high school's Hispanic Student Union last week and proceeded fuck something up, right on schedule. Apparently some of the Hispanic kids looked "a little more Asian" to her. Huh?

The country's top Angle observer, Jon Ralston of the Las Vegas Sun, unearthed this latest gaffe that probably won't have any impact on the race, because few of her daily gaffes ever impact the race and because she's running against universally despised Sen. Harry Reid in a state where 70% of mortgages are underwater and everyone is sad and angry and starving. That said, this is still highly comical:

"So that's what we want is a secure and sovereign nation and, you know, I don't know that all of you are Latino. Some of you look a little more Asian to me. I don't know that. [Note: it's the Hispanic Student Union. The whole room is Hispanic teenagers.] What we know, what we know about ourselves is that we are a melting pot in this country. My grandchildren are evidence of that. I'm evidence of that. I've been called the first Asian legislator in our Nevada State Assembly."

Okay so that last line? That may be funnier than the thing about Hispanic Student Union students looking more Asian to her. What could she be babbling about? As Ralston notes, "That last comment, about her being called the first Asian legislator? I have no idea what she is talking about." Same here. She looks a little more Hispanic to us.

The big deal is that any candidate speaking before the Hispanic Student Union should know that the membership of the Hispanic Student Union is 100% Hispanic. And, saying that they don't look Hispanic is just plain loony. Then, saying that she's been called the first Asian legislator in the Nevada State Assembly is even loonier, since she's NOT Asian, and she's trying to win over a room full of HISPANICS. It's typical Teabagger Republican stupidity. That's what the big deal is.

Oh, and your Teabagger Republican buddy Christine O'Donnell, who's running for the Senate from Delaware, was very surprised to learn that separation of church and state was in our United States Constitution. Currently, she's running ELEVEN points BEHIND her opponent.

I love her. She provides me with so much laughter. Here is another gaffe:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D - NV) is fighting a tough re-election campaign against former Nevada Assemblywoman Sharron Angle. "Tough," partly because he has high unfavorables. And partly because Sharron Angle keeps doing things like encouraging his assassination.

Yes, that's right: Sharron Angle, Republican candidate for Senate in the great state of Nevada ("All for Our Country"), told conservative talk radio host Lars Larson that "people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies and saying, 'My goodness what can we do to turn this country around?' And I'll tell you the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out."

Whatever could she have meant by that? "I meant take him out of office, and taking him out of office is a little different," she later clarified. "I changed my rhetoric." Of course! She must have confused herself, because the Second Amendment concerns the right of the people to bear arms, while voting people out of office is covered in the Fifteenth Amendment. Not that she's not right: Not voting for a candidate is, indeed, "a little different" than murdering him with a gun.

Well, let's give her the benefit of the doubt.
She may truly not have known where she was.
She always looks a bit sleepy-eyed like she's on some sort of heavy meds - prescription ones, of course - so she may have trouble remembering things, like where she is and what she's doing.

Dude she has a point. Live in Los Angeles. You have the Mexicans, who are a WIDE range of mixture from indigenous to Spanish mix. Don't forget the indigenous people crossed the Barring Strait when it was frozen 30,000 years ago from ASIA. There's plenty of Hispanics that get confused for Filipino, especially since both groups are mixtures of the same formula: Asian + Spanish + Possibly more. I've seen plenty of Filipinos who look Mexican and plenty of Mexicans who look Filipino. If Sharron Angle knows a bunch of Filipinos, then's she's going to be confused as hell when she visits parts of American.

Latinos however do not look remotely Chinese, Korean, or Japanese.

Oh, forgot to mention the parts of Los Angeles where Korea town is gradually dissolving into the ever growing Mexican parts...and yes that means you have MEXICASIANS! I've seen them myself.

Sharon Angle should be losing. She is full of bizarre ideas that the NRSC has had to curb in order for her to look mainstream. But then comes along Christine O'Donnell. She is so fucking crazy that she makes Angle seem mainstream. And that is one of the reasons she is up in the polls against Reid. Gaffe after gaffe and it doesn't matter be cause there is an anti-masturbation witch in Delaware.

OMG Christine O'Donnell!! I LOVE HER!!! She provides bloggers with countless hours of material. I wish I had a 24 hour live feed of her. I wouldn't have to subscribe to comedy central.

If you don't see the extraordinary stupidity of her saying that under these particular circumstances, I don't think there'd be any point in trying to explain it to you.

https://www.ushmm.org/wlc/en/article.php?ModuleId=10007392Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) was a prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps.

Niemöller is perhaps best remembered for the quotation:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
