Eh hem... it's Seattleite not Seattlite.

    Seattleite http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Seattleite

    1. Any person living in, or within ten miles of The city of Seattle, WA [the real Washington, not that fake one on the east coast.]
2.Is easily agitated when tourist asks to see the original Starbucks, Microsoft or Kurt Cobain's house. True Seattleites do not care for these things.
3.Considers Seattle to be the best city on Earth.
    4. Is a pretentious coffee snob due to the thousands of delicious coffee houses and rostaries that surround them.
    5. Any person who knows not to visit Pike Place Market on a Saturday.
    6. Any person who was disappointed by EMP (unlike the inbred hicks from across the country who come to visit it).
    7. Anybody who knows that "eating Dicks" means eating burgers.
8.Any person that hates it when Californians drive through Washington and cry about the rain and the cold.
    9. Typically a city that is completely devoid of soccer moms.

On the 8th day God created Seattle
and on the 9th day God created the Seattleite
on the 10th day, God finally rested.

Anyway, back to Paula "High-on-anti-depressants" Abdul. icon_biggrin.gif How come she hasn't told Daniel Noriega that all of the girls like him? I'm sure he's only Emo and not gay. hahahahahahaha

Is it possible to have Seattle and a celebrity and not have the celeb get messed up?

    pretty funny though.

Hmmm, starmaker? No, I don't think they've created too many real stars. Maybe Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, and Chris Daughtry, but as Simon would say, the rest have become forgetable. Then "signing their lives away" to the show doesn't help much.
I think they show has the ability to be a legitimate platform for finding authentic, non-ratings related, musicians, but limits itself by taking a person from a particular group of people to be on the show, rather than a person who happens to be better than people in other groups. I bet they'd be a lot of fat, young, ugly and clueless people on this show if they actually recruited contestants like a legitimate competition.
It's odd loving and hating this show at the same time. It's both annoying and entertaining for what it lacks. But seeing the winners of the shows on a contractual leash and they runners up being stuck with commitments to the show is a good enough reminder to stay aware from the auditions.
As for Paula. I pity the woman, going on television a couple times a week in the mental state she's in, being used for comedy and ratings. I think she's on a heavy mix of presribed drugs and mixed drinks, and needs to go to a rehabilitation facility with results. They say you can judge the ethics of a business by the way it treats it's weakest associates. I believe American Idol has no shame.

Than her kids can go on the show... hopefully she won't be like that crazy loud b*tch from "So You Think You Can Dance?", though that'd be hilarious!

I was watching American Idol last night, oh, my god, she's as drunk as a skunk. It was funny for a while but after the Nth "you're unique.... you're just unique..." it became tiresome. She needs taking in hand.

I'm a fan of Paula also. I think she just works way too hard.

boiwunderkind: you're forgetting Fantasia (last I heard she was on Broadway), Carrie Underwood (has a great country career), Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls), and I'm sure we'll see more from Elliot Yamin.

You're right I did forget them, but I'm not a fan of Fantasia or Carrie, but my feeling about Hudson are up in the air... it's like she was used for publicity?

I see how you guys think this of Paula Abdul.

After having worked with her (I am a Cameraman) on several projects, I know that she has severe back pain which she treats with strong Meds. Having said that, I also DO think she does intoxicants and is a bit ditzy to begin with. icon_smile.gif

That's too bad. I thought this season is the most un-medicated she's seemed in years.
