Call your Congressperson and Senators about Obama treating us with this whiplash challenging of the DADT. The more the Dems hear from us the greater the possibility that Obama will face resistance to his jackass policy.

How much difference do you think this is going to make?

Before the Health Care Overhaul, we called our Congressmen ,Women and Senators. So many of us called that we shut down the switchboard, several times. With 40% of the US population identifying as conservative, most of us couldn't persuade our Democrat Congressmen, Women and Senators to vote aginst "Obamacare", why do you think that gay people who amount to 10% of the population ( 27% of the GLBT population identify as Republican or conservative--up from 25% in 2000) will fare any better?

Why did the Democrats allow the Obama DOJ to appeal in cases where the DOMA was struck down in Mass and Cal. ? If they truely were in favor of gay marriage all that would have been necassary is for the DOJ to stand back and not get involved in either case. There was no pressure from The Demmocrats in congress on either the President or the DOJ to not get involved in either case. There was no pressure from the President on the DOJ to allow the curt decissions to stand. So what exactly did the Democrat politicians do to end DOMA?

Log Cabian Republicans sue to end DADT and the Obama DOJ sues to have it reinstated, and you think that Democrats in congress are going to do anything about it? They are too busy trying to get re-elected and keep power for themselves and their friends to be concerned about what a bunch of gays want.

The evil Republican George W. Bush has spent more on AIDS/HIV than any other president, got no thanks from most gay people. The current President plans to cut the Bush AIDS/HIV programs and hardly a word can be heard from the "gay community".

Are you that niave, to think the the Democrats in congress will care? How long have you been supporting democrats? How long have they disappointed you? What real, meaningful change in gay rights have they given you ? The Democrats have been in controll of both houses of congress for 4 years and the Whitehouse for 2 years. Don't you think that if they truely cared about the rights they keep promising to get for you that they could have done it sometime in the last 4 years? Or at the very least, they could have made some kind of an attempt, after all they did march their members off a cliff to get the stimulus and "Obamacare" passed without Republican votes, yet on gay rights issues they need 'bipartisan' input. When do you stop re-electing the same people who over and over again pay lip service to you to get your votes and once they are in office don't remember the promises they made to you ? They throw you enough crumbs and hold out just enough hope to keep you voting for them, yet they never seem produce for you, but you continue to vote for them. Gays are a safe constituency for Democrats, all they have to do is make a few promises they never intend to keep and gays just keep blindly putting them back in office. If you have whiplash, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I'm gonna call Obama and ask him to request an emergency stay on the "Separate but Equal" clause so that Black students don't upset propriety of White student's decorum in school. After all, White don't like Black people. Therefore, mixing the two will debase the entire structure. Likewise, because straight people do not like gay people, the commingling is detrimental to the military. It's best we all stay confined to and affiliate only with others based on superficial and irrelevant reasons, such as skin color and sexual orientation. This way our society won't progress. After all, what's the use in progressing when you have no idea what will happen if society changes, when you already know what everything is like with the way society is now? It's best to remain ossified and shoot any deviating neuron that's malleable out with a laser beam.

    Love,
Too many retarded Americans with too much power.

    shybuffguy,

I do know that Democrats on the DC city council gave gay DC residents the right to get married. Maryland, which is predominately Democrat, recognizes out-of-state same-sex marriage and Governor O'Malley has changed his position from supporting civil unions to marriage for gays.

Gay marriage, in states like Massachusetts, was pushed by those identified as Democrat. So while you and other conservatives on this site try to mock efforts, a great deal has been done over the years.

Would you like to inform us who you voted for in Utah that is a proponent of gay civil liberties? You, TexDef, CuriousJock, and others sure do like to condemn Democrats for their inaction, so which politicians have you voted for that are such busy little beavers making things better for gays?
