Is being mean and rude really necessary, Caslon16000?

I haven't signed on in a while, but i just discovered the forum thread referring to me and my stubble, started by mizu5icon_wink.gif.

First let me say to all the guys who had such nice things to say, THANK YOU. I'm always flattered and humbled by the complements. I always say to people my mom and dad are the ones who should get the complements because they taught me how to smile and that's what i consider to be most important about me - that i can find the joy and humor in life. i truly believe that's what makes some people so beautiful inside and out.

On the flip side, there are things that make people ugly on the insideRESIZED TEXT GOES HEREicon_neutral.gif.

What is the point of making such a hurtful and rude comment about where I am from, Caslon? Maybe i missed something or maybe i'm not nearly as intelligent as those from Virginia. What did gain from putting me down, Cas?

Does anyone else want to weigh in on this? Am i being foolish for being curious this since his testimonials are all about how sweet and loving he is?

    -Joe (a.k.a. joeyb611)

he is not sweet at all. The lolcats mislead people. He is vindictive and unkind. I´ve seen it in several ways over the years, most disgustingly in the way he behaves/d towards meninlove.

bottom line: block him. It improves the user experience.

    The word is "compliments."

I swear, it's like being nibbled to death by ducks around here sometimes!

Welcome to the world of the internet, Joey.
No matter which website you're on, you find good and bad comments everywhere, including comment forums after every online newspaper article.

Here at RealJock I hold opinions which may not be considered popular.
Many, many times I have been flamed here, and called a troll.

But now I have reasons to believe that my posts are ignored and as a result, I have to endure a deafening sound of silence, which is much worse than being flamed.

At least by being flamed, I know that my contributions are read.

Joey...first of all, I would like to say that I think you're adorable.

AND, as for Caslon16000... I can no longer view any of his posts because he has done the same thing to me and MANY others. He's a total jerk...and not well liked at all...despite the testimonials left by his desperate, admiring fans.
I think he's been off of his meds for far too long....
I would suggest you just block the SOB, but have pity on him.... he's obviously got some MAJOR mental issues and needs lots of professional help!!!

I just checked out your profile and was really interested in your misadventures in dating channel. But, you closed your account. Boooooo.

I like your smile and your stubble. So, ignore everyone else.

Seriously are you that blind to dry humor?
I swear some of the people on here are either very naive or extremely thick and if it isn't followed by a LOL or similar it goes right over their (in this case yours) heads.
Lighten up and stop reading everything so literally because all of it isn't.

Well, I dunno. Caslon is an Institution here. Sometimes he & I cross swords, a military term I like to use, and sometimes we even agree on things. Other times we are at each others' throats.

I kinda like his lolcats. I suspect he just likes to be contrary & cantankerous.

Well, OK, so that's what he does, often slamming me as much as anyone else here. So I take it in stride, part of the local color, and why is this a big issue with some members?

Ya know guys, I'd rather have a sometimes classically bitchy Caslon, than a consistently anti-gay poster here. Bitchiness I can handle, as I hope you can, being fairly bitchy myself. But gay hatred is a different matter entirely. I'll tolerate the former, but not the latter.

there is a diff between dry humor and 'humor' directed at someone that is hurtful and destructive. A good humorist knows where to draw the line, otherwise they are just asses.....Keithicon_cool.gif

In any forum you're always going to have ppl that find fault w/ each others ability to communicate effectively but to start a thread about a fellow member and have ppl chime in negative comments about one particular person is mean and rude and frankly I find it to be a bully tactic.

It is difficult to really weigh in on this, because all we know is that he said something about your stubble in another thread and you were offended. We don't really know what that was or the context of the thread, since there is no link to the thread. Why didn't you address it in that thread instead of making this thread?

    The comment in question:
Caslon16000 saidOMG! He's not even that good looking...and he lives in New Jersey. Seek professional help.

I saw the thread and read that comment that I thought was hurtful and unnecessary. I took a look at your profile and saw a very nice guy with great looks and an excellent build. You might recall I complimented a pic and referred to your profile too.

I don't know why the comment was made. It's not as if you started the thread and bragged about yourself. Some guys always AHs, some not but in bad moods from time to time. Sometimes even jealously can enter into the equation. Maybe because you were not involved in the thread there was an assumption you would never see it, so you were thought of as an object instead of a fellow RJ member with feelings. You know you're a good guy; just focus on the positive compliments and completely ignore the rest.

even say anything bad about NJ. Just that you lived there! You must have a bad feeling about your state. And do you really need to have you appearance confirmed by everyone or you burst into tears? Srsly? You are that devastated? The OP asked for comments about you. Talk to him about making you a topic of discussion.

I tell ya you wouldn't last a minute as Caslon. People, like that tall turd in Canada insults the hell out of people and then spends the rest of his time denigrating them if they have the nerve to respond in kind. But actually he us just too stupid to realize it even after you draw the mofo a picture. And jolly Burl Ives, he sn example of people who slam people over and over and when they finally get feed ip and tell him about it. He clutches his bosom in shock of total disbelief. Hey is ity fault he let himself go. icon_rolleyes.gif Oh for christ's sake! And for some reason attacking someone over his cats is fair play, but if you point out that you now understand why the neighbors ran them out of the neighborhood and tried to kill their dogs, that's just terrible.

His "humor" is just to be cruel and vindictive. But it seems it is all he has.

And don't think we missed that shot at the legendary and much loved, no make that the very much beloved Burl Ives. That was just plain mean insulting his legacy like that..
Now sing along with Burl everyone and get those toes a tapping and heads a swaying.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidCas is not being funny. There have been times when I made jokes and made it clear by using an emoticon like icon_lol.gif or a icon_smile.gif and then he would e-mail me telling me to remove my post..

haa.a.. I forgot that... the scolding emails telling you to do something... He always wanted me to keep it quiet that OPs can delete threads. I´m never sure why this mattered.
