Is it possible to get any taller?

I know this sound ridiculous, but one of my biggest insecurities is my height. I'm 20 years old and I'm about 5'9" if I'm lucky. My ideal height would be 6'2", but I know that is unrealistic.

So many people have said that height increase is possible through stretching exercises and what not, but I'm not sure how true that is. Anyone know anything about this?

The only exercise you need to do is work on accepting the 5'9", cuz that's pretty much as far as it's going to to go.

I am exactly 5'9", and I don't feel that short (maybe I've just accepted it), and the sooner you accept your height the better...Let's see, I've seen something similar before...Oh yes, a lot of guys wish they had a 9 in dick. That doesn't mean it is gonna happen, though.

No, Seriously, 5'9"/5'10" is the average male, so be happy with it.

I bought lunch for a friend today who is around 5'9".
I told him I'd like to be that short because my lunch cost twice as much as his.

I would like to know this too, during puberty there was a time where I was 6'2'' and I've strunk and I think I am continuing to strink. If there is a way to stop this and turn it around I would like to know as well.

    Thanks =o)

I'd suggest getting your spine checked out. That doesn't sound right.

You can´t change your bones, but you can change your posture which will at least make you look taller. But basically, get used to your height. You are not going to be 6´2" without stilts.

There are pros and cons to being tall.

You're 20... You COULD have another small growth spurt around 21-22, like I did. I grew another inch, to be 6' 2.5" .... in any case, you could hit 5'10" and thats a perfectly good height to be. icon_smile.gif

Watch the movie Gattaca http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119177/ sometime. The way they do it in the film is fairly authentic (although done underground in the movie), but it's prohibitively expensive and painful for the months that it takes, since they basically break your bones over and over before stretching the legs.

Be happy that you're 69" tall.

Do exercises to strengthen your legs (calves especially), lower back, and core. You'll have better posture and stand taller--maybe an inch or two. Adding 5 inches to your frame isn't going to happen. ;)

No. Unless you suffer a pituitary gland malfunction, and then you will die young.

Well, let me say first off as a 6'3" tall guy, I'd never turn you away because you are 5'9". Secondly, the only way I know is to have surgery where medical personnel basically break your legs and extremely slowly stretch your legs as they begin to heal. I know this sort of procedure is not recommend at all - in fact I've read where most physicians refuse to do the procedure.

The draw backs (or so I've read) are that the bones are not as stable and 'solid,' for lack of another work, as they otherwise would be if healed 'normally.' I recall reading where the 'straightness' of the leg is also an issue. If I was you, I wouldn't do anything. I think shorter guys are hot. icon_biggrin.gif I guess that is a good thing because it is extremely difficult finding gay men who are 6'3" or taller.

Best way to gain about an inch of height is do yoga. It won't actually increase anything but your posture will improve a lot and that adds up more than an Inch to your height. Like keeping your back straight and shoulders pulled back and down. That itself gives you an inch. Add a little bit more by keeping you neck straight and head held high instead of looking down.

I don't know what the age range is for human growth hormone (HGH) to be effective is (though, if you really care it's worth looking into) and I don't know for certain that there aren't any exercises.
BUT, when you've tried all that or given up on it I think you'll find the you get the most out of just making your features work for you.
People talk about "accepting" yourself. Feh. Dude, don't accept it, rock it. The people who give a damn about you being short aren't going to change, everyone else though will love you the more for it. ;)

I love short guys...theyre the "pocket gays - the perfect travel sized companion." As Jack would say...and it also doesnt hurt that its alot easier for short guys to get and maintain muscle tone as us tall guys have to work extra hard with our lengthy stretched out muscles. :/ Not fair...and short guys have better asses. icon_smile.gif

Depends on what you mean by "care about." my sexual attraction to a man is inversely proportional to height. I love shorter men! As a guy's height approaches my height my sexual attraction drops off. And if he is greater than my height, he can hold my hat. ;-)

Pfffft- try wearing heel-less shoes- you'd feel really short then.

I'm sorry but this makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever. Chuckystud is only 5'5" and I am sure he eats three times more than you ever could.
The only way the short guys' meals can cost them less is by shopping at a store that gives "short-guy only discounts."

I know I'm not gonna add 5 inches, I was just saying 6'2" would be my ideal height, if I could choose to be any height.

Thinking realistically, I would be satisfied if I could just be an inch or two taller making me 5'10" or 5'11".

    I'm not even 100% sure I'm 5'9", with my shoes off I might be like 5'8". icon_confused.gif
