    Hi,
My name is Dave and I`ve had an ileostomy for three years starting when I was 19 years old. I had the ileoanal reservoir (J-pouch) surgery (two step surgeries), and have had no major problems. I seek out other guys who have or have had an ostomy. I met the partner of one guy who had a J-pouch, although, never the actual individual.
I managed very well and became VERY competitive from it. Actually, while having an ostomy I became EXTREMELY hyper active. I have tons of tips and tricks of living with an ostomy, if you are currently in this boat.

    So, Ostomates, let`s chat!

    Dave

Not me, but a good friend of mine continues to ballroom dance even though he's wearing a colostomy bag. So far no BIG problems with the surgery (almost 10 years ago).

    Hey guys,
Thanks for your reply and understanding with people with Ostomies. Ostomy means opening in greek. Sometimes my parents joke that I have an ostomy inmy head. I don`t get it! kidding.

    Thanks.

    LOL at your parents :-)

we've definitely made improvements over the years with ostomies and ostomy care. and it's really really cool to see you've adapted and lived well with the pouch. three thumbs up!
