I know it's hard for many of us who voted for Obama and feel like he has let us down. Last week I responded to the info@barackobama email that I seem to get every week with, "You lost me for your current actions on DADT."

BUT, what is the alternative? Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell? It's like these people have been pithed and can't understand logic and reason and fairness and equality. I truly think they are evil.

So, I am going to go out and vote Democratic on Nov. 2. It will only take a few moments of time. We need to do this to at least see what happens. Otherwise, it could be 10 YEARS of stalemate in our government.

    So please vote next week.

Frankly, I don't think HIllary would have fared any better than Obama against the solid wall of Republican obstructionism. Perhaps she would have done a better job of touting their accomplishments to maintain their political capital.

You idiot, Sarah Palin isn't even running for office and O'donnel is not going to win, she's way to far down in the polls.

You're just scaring yourself for nothing.

Remember this on November 4th: it is OK to be mad at a friend than side with the enemy because a friend will return to your side in truth whereas the enemy will never do so and ultimately hurt you in the end.

Hillary would have fared far better than Obama. She's a stronger leader and also has much more established ties to the power brokers in both parties.

We agree for once. Hillary would have kicked her some righty ass.

I'm not sure of that. Would Hillary have picked better advisors than Obama? And just as Obama is being relentlessly attacked for his race, Hillary would have been attacked in the same way as being a woman.

Obama has not been attacked over his race, although this has been incessantly alleged by people who want to make this about race.

It is truly sad that you have not investigated on your own conservative candidates for local, state and national races. You watch MSNBC and NBC instead of doing research to find the TRUTH.

Our nation is at a crossroads. We can either go further into debt and into crisis, continue losing jobs, continue losing value on the dollar and continue to lose homes and our savings or we can vote for fiscally responsibility and common sense.

We simply cannot afford more of the same. Spending is out of control. The trillion dollars that our Congress spent on the stimulus was wasted. We cannot afford the health care "reform" nor the cap and trade. Our nation must curtail spending in order to save ourselves from losing more jobs and more homes and more wealth.

Obama, Pelosi and Reid must be stopped. Get your heads out of the gay press and read some objective media, research some objective information online and find out for yourself. Wake up, gay men and women. This is a decisive moment for America and we cannot afford to continue to "hope" that things will get better. Hope is not a strategy.

Vote with your brain and not your sex organ.

    Really?

How about D'inesh Dzousas recent article claiming that Obama was genetically predisposed to enact the "anti-colonialist" (as if being anti-colonialist was a bad thing) politics of the black father he barely knew?

Or Rush Limbaugh calling him a "half-rican?"

    Or those Tea Bagger signs?

I will add my commendation to the others on an excellent first post. You are far from alone with this viewpoint. There are many of us in strong agreement, but we don't post here as often as those with different positions.

Then by the same token Bush was attacked racially for being portrayed as a monkey. Or are you saying that black people look like monkeys and therefore there's an obviously racial connotation when someone uses a monkey?

From my understanding, monkeys are used to portray anyone deemed "stupid".

Bush is attacked as looking like a money because he actually LOOKS like a monkey, but comparing African Americans to monkeys or apes is a historically racist connotation. (It was actually also used to describe the Irish in the late 19th century, but it went out of usage.)

And, no one, even the Tea Partiers suggests that Obama is "stupid" so the connotation must be a racist one. And putting aside "monkey" explain D'Souza's article, or the birthers sub-group of Tea Partiers, or why every time there's a TP rally someone has a poster of Obama with a "bone through his nose."

I cannot for the life of me understand why you carry water for a corporately funded, astro-turf group, that promotes anti-gay, racist views and policies.

Wow, I'm not quite sure where to start.Do you honestly not know why he is being compared to a monkey? The monkey depiction is racial because historically when racism was much more outspoken black people have been portrayed and described as monkeys in both appearance, intelligence, and behavior. They used "science" to put blacks on a level that was sub-human and on the level of monkeys.

Have you all not read this:

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/editorials/2010-10-15-editorial15_ST_N.htm

"Of the $388 billion in TARP money that was spent, more than half has already been recovered, according to the latest Treasury Department report. What's more, with GM looking healthier and even insurance giant AIG showing signs of life, it's possible that TARP could turn a profit in the end. That would make it one of the best uses of federal tax dollars in memory."

Hmmmm, when an extremist right-winger thinks Hillary would have been better it's suspicious.

To the Hillary supporters who'd like to see her as President. Has your country ever had a woman Prez and what are the chances? It's worth thinking about because if the voters of both parties are reluctant to vote for a woman president, then replacing Obama with her could be a mistake.

Mock, you're looking publicly rather stupid with this,

"So you're telling me that it's racially offensive because basically, in so many words, "it hits too close to home". Unbelievable. "

    Go to an elementary school.
See the white Mom and kids? Go over and say, 'How are the little monkeys?" and she'll likely laugh and say they're a handful.

Now...see over there, the black Mom and kids? Go over there and ask her how the little monkeys are and see what kind of reaction you get.

    D'oh.

No, I'm sorry you would be inclined to think that you're close enough to a monkey to even get offended by some idiot trying to make the connection.

Ever wondered why the Jews never get offended by all of the slanderous and hateful jokes and remarks?
