Ran only 4 miles today, but ended up running it in 26:40, which comes out to around 6:40 a mile. I believe I ran the last mile in 5:50 as I went out a bit slow.

Not sure what to make of this right now, but Wednesday I will need an easy run to try to chill out from such hard runs lately.

A little embarrassed following Zox's times but again, from the other end of the training spectrum. icon_neutral.gif
    ran about 3.66 miles in 40:38 with running 4 min/walking 1 min.

I can only handle running 3-4 days a week. Otherwise everything starts breaking down. Try jumping on the bike or in the pool a couple times a week to keep it frech.

I only started back up last year after taking essentially13 years off. I started running only a mile at a time coming in and being out of breath. I also was 35 pounds heavier so that has helped having that weight off.

healthseeker, everyone starts slow. the important thing is that you're out there running.

and don't worry about trying to keep up with Zox - he's one of the really good guys on here.

    Thanks, Zox.
That is very encouraging for me. I assumed you had been running much longer than a year.

Thank you as well, Briefs. i am enjoying running and I know as I increase my endurance and fitness I will only enjoy it more.

I still don't think I am great shape yet. I need to work on more core training to get muscular and be able to run faster.
