I realize that this is very subjective, but I'm curious as to what qualities other guys consider in defining a guy as a real "catch." I'm sure location plays a big role, but it seems like straight women and gay men (of the same age) differ greatly on the traits and qualities they look for in a guy. I understand the importance of physical attraction, but at what point do guys look at other qualities. I've just noticed that a "catch" in the eyes of most women is pretty different than the eyes of gay men.

I would define a catch as someone that greatly exceeds the standard that you have set for dating or considering someone for a relationship.

The bar that I have set is this:

    Works out
    Intelligent
Good personality (nice, caring, not arrogant)

So a catch for me would be someone like this:

    Works out
    Intelligent
    Good personality
    Funny
    Talented
    Inspiring
    Motivated
    Handsome
    Can drive a stick-shift

I have answered this question to the best of my ability, I hope it helps. icon_smile.gif

Someone who wants to get to know my friends and goes out of their way to include them always wins me over. As well as guys who speaks their mind, laughs a lot, is playfully teasing, comfortable with physical affection and likes me with short hair icon_lol.gif God, it's so hard to find a guy that does!
And when I meet a guy that's like that, I'll sit back, catch myself staring at him and think to myself, 'man, you are really something' then I'll know that he's a catch.
