Wed., I'll be going in for surgery to reattach a torn triceps to the elbow. Separation from the bone is near complete according to the MRI.

This will involve incision around the outside of the elbow, braiding thread through the detached tendon and muscle above, drilling of holes through the bone, and tying down of the tendon using the holes to anchor the thread.

I'll be in a splint for about six weeks, and won't be able to use the arm to any degree for about six months.

Does anyone here have experience with this? Any experiences with recovery times, what activity is permitted, etc. I'll be talking to the doctors on Monday but would like to hear some "real world" experiences.

Thanks,
Dave
