I ONLY WANT ATTRACTIVE, SEXUALLY COMPATIBLE FRIENDS W/ HOT BODIES

This is what many profiles seem to say when they have "FRIENDS ONLY" listed on their page, right near all of their half naked "let's just be friends" pics..

The guys with the hotter pics get the most attention and quickest response to their messages.

Do you feel pressure to post revealing pics to get attention from the guys on this site?

No, no pressure at all. I do it because I hate wearing clothes.

what does FRIENDS have to do with looks?

People don't base friendships on looks, unless you're those people like on that A-list show lol. I'm friends with straight guys who i would NEVER want to hookup with if they told me they were gay later on, but looks don't make friendships. Hanging out and having common ground does. And there are straight guys who are super attractive/muscular and are really close friends with me as well...so it's good to find people who aren't obsessive over looks/body and focused on being bros.

one thing that irritates me about my boyfriend is we'll be out somewhere doing whatever and he'll see an attractive person who has dressed fashionably that day and he's always like "look at him or her, he/she looks so good, I wanna totally be there friend!"

and im like.... "uhhh why? because they look good?"

he will usually say something like, "yeah, they look like fun or something"
I usually just roll my eyes and say "yeah ok"

im thinking though "ugh, how lame, u wanna be there friend because u like the way they look, u dont even know them."

i concur. i have no revealing pictures on my profile because i wanted to see if the content of my character would be sufficient to merit responses to my emails/profile.

    i am overwhelmingly wrong.

i suppose i should just give into the social norm of this site and post the requisite shirtless picture.

yeah.... i'll put that on my 'to do' list. i'll get around to it sometime, after i get my bodyfat down a little lower. if i'm going to be shallow, i'll be deeply shallow dammit.

I agree what I think is the basis of this post that there is a definition for a friend, though perhaps many, and the gay community can be particularly infamous for this, who construe of friendships in what we would term "shallow" or "vapid".

I conceive of this issue as that same "promiscuity" label, guys who want hot friends open to NSA fun...
