He'd trade in the sandals for some tasteful Ferragamo loafers. Unless it's a beach wedding, but even then he'd need a dress sandal.

    Reading this was cool:

"Around Jesus you can whine, lie, shift your loyalties, be late, be greedy, be too ambitious, be stupid, be a coward, be a hypochondriac, constantly complain, fall asleep at every wrong moment — you can do nothing right, and it won’t in the slightest way seem to offend him. But you put dogma ahead of empathy? You transmogrify God’s law into a justification for denying God’s grace?

Then … yikes, man. Then you’ve got yourself a problem no one wants."

    ...and this even better:

"I think I better go to the weddings of my gay friends. I’m almost scared not to. In some of his parables Jesus wasn’t exactly fortune-cookie clear, but he didn’t even almost waffle about his “Love your neighbor as yourself.” He very explicitly declared that the “first and greatest commandment.”

If there’s any wiggle room there, I just don’t see it."

Tell the Romans and have everyone crucified. At least that's what his followers say.

Great article! Thanks for posting. The amazing thing to me is how so many people hate and mock Jesus when He was probably the coolest, most loving person who ever lived. Doesn't make sense. Christ gets blamed for the un-Christlike actions of those claiming to follow Christ. Still completely misunderstood for 2,000 years.

Well said. I'm sure at the very least he would be "The Guest of Honor"...I mean, C'mon -- It's Jesus! Doesn't get any more superstar famous than that.

In the Word, you have the answer. The answer is....if the gays were not Christians HE would have showed up. You see, He showed up where HE was needed. HE hung out with publicans who were tax collectors , (those who were notorious for being "no good dirty rotten, etc.) thus hated by the people in general. When asked why HE was with them HE answered...The healthy do not need a doctor, likewise I am not here for the "righteous" but for the sinner who need repentence. (that means for those who knew they were not right with God and wanted to be forgiven)

How do you know He doesn't? If he really was the son of God, and had the power to do so, I'm sure He would reveal his true self to those that would put their prejudices aside and who really want to know the real Him. I'm sure He does that all the time. It just doesn't make headlines. If He's not really the son of God and is just some historical figure then there really isn't anything He can do about anything at this point, is there?

I think you may be missing the point -- it's up to US to do something about it. The guy died on the cross for us, what more do ya want --- sheeesh!icon_eek.gif
