Here is the choice: two years to get more things done, even if slowly, or two years of getting absolutely NOTHING done, if the Republicans get control.

Get out and Vote. Please! icon_biggrin.gif

I think we get it, you want everyone to vote democrat. Now can we just stop it with the fear-mongering posts... The Republicans will hopefully halt spending, and that is important for the long-term health of our nation and for the gay people within it. We already know the democrats are insatiable spenders and it will never stop if they have control. They think we can spend our way into prosperity but we can't...painful decisions about what to cut will have to be made.

So you tell him to stop with fear-mongering posts then your reply with one of your own? Interesting...

The "nothing will get done" isn't really fear mongering, they themselves have said what their intentions are when they take control. 1. Make Obama a one term president 2. No compromising.

And before you jump down my throat I full expect Democrats to get their asses handed to them tomorrow despite their efforts.

No, you don't get it. Civil rights are not going to be reversed. There's not going to be fascism. What we are experiencing now is REAL TANGIBLE DEBT. It's not fear mongering, it's a legitimate concern based on fact. Everything dems are spewing is nonsense because it isn't based on any real agenda put forth. Oh yes, if o'donnel is elected she will legislate against masturbation, we will be going back to the dark ages! OH MY, HOW SCAARRRYYY. Do you realize how many kooky beliefs everyone has? How come no one ever brought up about past presidents being in the skull and bones society,...that's freakier than someone being personally against masturbation.

I think I will go with the Republicans. If anything else is done by the Dems I think we will all be living in poverty.

I didn't say or imply any of those things icon_biggrin.gif. Saying that electing democrats will lead to the downfall of the economy is fear mongering no matter how you slice it. Its just like saying electing Republicans who cater to corporate special interests will re-create what started this mess in the first place.

Patently false. We've seen the track record of the democrats. We know for a fact that if we don't cut programs we will go further into debt. Democrats have expressed time and time again and have demonstrated that they are interested in constantly expanding government and increasing government programs and on the path toward a never ending tax increase. It is killing the spirit of capitalism which thrives on the idea that if you work hard you'll get to have a better life. The American dream is being undermined in the name of doing our citizens "good" by having never ending safety net programs. We need to figure out free market solutions for bringing healthcare costs down. There's already so much bureaucracy with government regulation that only one or two insurance companies are able to even offer services in many states and so what happens is that they start forming monopolies. What if there were 20 or 50 all vying to get customers? Costs would go down, things would be more affordable....

I'm not saying Democrats are perfect, but to have this holier than thou view of Republicans is pretty ridiculous. Republicans have the special interests of big corporations and wall street in mind. To say otherwise is an outright lie.

Its easy to speak out against safety net programs until you actually come to need them.

    Patently false.
Okay Let's take this at face value and see how patently false that statement was
We've seen the track record of the democrats.
You mean the one when we had the budget balanced and surplus in our treasury? That One?
We know for a fact that if we don't cut programs we will go further into debt.
Programs? What Like reinstating the inheritance tax and putting back the taxes on the top 2%?
Democrats have expressed time and time again and have demonstrated that they are interested in constantly expanding government and increasing government programs and on the path toward a never ending tax increase.
Except when they're cutting government and cutting taxes Like when Clinton did it in the 90's and Obama has done for you as part of the stimulus package

It is killing the spirit of capitalism which thrives on the idea that if you work hard you'll get to have a better life. Hmm and which idea of capitalism is that? Is that the same one that says to open up a PO Box in Barbados and not pay any American taxes?
Or maybe it's the one where you close all your operations in Ohio and open up shop in Mumbai? That what you're talking about?
The American dream is being undermined in the name of doing our citizens "good" by having never ending safety net programs.
Funny how the safety net programs for the Banks and the Wall Street Brokerage Houses don't figure into your argument at all
We need to figure out free market solutions for bringing healthcare costs down.
We did and it means taking healthcare OUT of the market
There's already so much bureaucracy with government regulation that only one or two insurance companies are able to even offer services in many states and so what happens is that they start forming monopolies.
What if there were 20 or 50 all vying to get customers? Costs would go down, things would be more affordable....
Okay Grasshopper .... There's TOO much regulation you say?
Really.... when auditors and regulating firms countrywide were turning a blind eye to everything from mortgage loans to dog food From credit cards to gypsum board from China
and you want less regulation you say?
Or maybe just maybe the lack of competition you're talking about is more about the ABUSE of capitalism whereby the bigfish eat all the little fish in the pond and we're left with TOO BIG TO FAIL
    How about that?

Well, your rant is so full of confusion and misinformation, that I just picked one part of it to comment on.

With 80,000 pages of new regulations added per year our Federal government has given us so many regulations that nobody has any idea at all what's in the Federal Register anymore.

So tell me SB .............. the Financial crisis was caused by too much regulation or too little ? Which one of those might it be?

    Not a trick question icon_wink.gif

Interesting how the day before the election the forums get flooded with pro-Republican posters whose posts number in the single digits.

Almost like they signed up just for the occasion. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, MnDean, you must go take a photo of yourself in your underwear right now and post it on the internet. Only then can you truly be taken seriously.

    Maybe they did.

But liberals / Democrats / socialists still outnumber those who aren't on here by 99 to 1.

I will admit the occasion did get me to come back. On one end I am so angry at Washington, but on the other hand I'm going to be so happy on Wednesday morning. I will be voting in 12 hours for Charlie Baker for Governor of Massachusetts and Jeff Perry for Congressman in the 10th District. Both have a very good chance of winning here in Liberal Massachusetts.

Typical Republican, backtracking on his words. Read your post above "..as you paranoid crazy people..." The proof is in the print.
