Being gay 20 years ago; easier or tougher?

    This should narrow the playing field.
    I came out in late 1991.
    To me, it was easier back then.
    But then again, I was living in Hope, Arkansas at the time.
    Clinton had the whole town supporting gays, except for a few violent thugs that I shot at one night as they threw rocks at my house. icon_biggrin.gif

    To be honest I don't find it much different now as then. I've never really experienced any negatives to being gay at work, with neighbors, family, anywhere really.
    Go back even further,, 30 years.. same story.

    I think in some ways it may be more difficult now, as there is an obsessive focus on gays and what they are and what they deserve or don't deserve by the US media and public. Voting to decide is horrible and not only puts gays in the hot seat, but is demoralizing when that vote is "No" to basic rights.
