    Heya Guys-

My buddy in Atlanta invited me to come there to participate in next March's Tough Mudder event. I've never heard of these before, so I checked out the website:

    http://toughmudder.com/events/

It looks like so. much. fun! They ask people to pledge camaraderie as well as not to focus on times. However, to be clear, it's like an obstacle course for adults.

At any rate, there are some interesting challenges embedded into the race including climbing, and ropes, and mud crawls.

I play soccer, so I'm OK with the mud and the cold (over 30 degrees, please, but I can go colder)...and I lift weights and run. Meanwhile, what can I do to prep for this, aside from maybe going to an indoor climbing studio somewhere.

Any thoughts? Someone told me this is kinda like one of those events where it's 80% mind over matter.

    What do you think?

    Thanks, in advance, guys.

Yeah, don't focus on time. In other words, don't run at full speed. Pace yourself and "jog" between obstacles. Focus on upper body strength. If you can do at least 5 pull-ups, you should be able to get over most obstacles. If you can find a 6 foot wall to practice climbing over, that would help you out. Work on stretching and flexibility as well.

    Thanks, xrichx.
    Much appreciate those ideas.
If I can get back to doing pullups, I'm golden.
Had a shoulder/neck injury in March and I'm working my way back to 100%

Have you ever done one of these events??
