A couple of weeks ago I discovered the song "Mercy" by Duffy, a Welsh singer whose single is still #1 on the British charts...

Anyway, it's FREE on iTunes THIS WEEK. It's like 60's pop song + Dusty Springfield and it's gooood. I'm hoping I can get some people to download the song or at least find any other fans of hers out there.

If you like Amy Winehouse you might like Duffy.

Her album just came out in the States -- surely I'm not the only fan of hers on this message board.

i just discovered here a few weeks back on an mp3 music blog -- you know, where you 'sample' songs until you decide whether or not to buy them. and i am hooked! she's like an amy winhouse but without the accompanying personal trainwreck. very soulful stuff in the british soul tradition.

and hey, after i 'listened' to a couple of here songs, i went to itunes and bought a couple others, so there you go record industry!

    Dusty Springfield was the best.

Incredible. What a sad loss that she died so young.

Duffy is rad and, dare I say, better than Amy Winehouse.

The Duffy cd is great. Very retro like Amy Winehouse, only they are very different artists. I'm a little partial to Wino because she was the first to come out with this sound, so there will no doubt be others in her and Duffy's tracks. But both are good...much different than the usual trite shit put out over the airwaves.

ebl33, I just saw Verve Remixed 4 on iTunes today (I love the series) and yeah, I definitely recommend it to anyone that likes jazz with a modern mix to it.

Duffy's album is definitely one of the best albums I've purchased so far this year (Kylie's album being *THE* best I've gotten so far icon_biggrin.gif ).
