Election funding reforms are ultimately necessary to end what we just witnessed in this last election, which is that our elections are bought and paid for by the highest bidder. Whether through lobbying or in the actual political running for office most of the outcomes are bought. When thinking of this statement keep in mind the outcome of the the Health Care Reform Bill, what ended the public option? what influenced multiple aspects of that bill if it wasn't Lobbying. How about Bank/Wall Street Reform, anyone think that it wasn't weakened as a result of millions spent on lobbying ? Who really thinks that the results of this last election wasn't a direct result of outside and often secret funding for the basic purpose of deciding who would be elected. Corporate Money is buying our election results, its buying our policies here in our country as well as our foreign policy, it gets us into wars, and decides our energy policies. Everything our country does is bought and paid for by corporate/big money interests, right down to what news we get from the large corporate owned news media. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The public can and should demand a constitutional ammendment to inforce Total Public Funding for all elections and demand an end to Lobbying as we now know it by purhaps forming a Peoples Lobby to represent the Publics interest each and every time any Lobbying before congress is being done. Every citizen and corporation would still have the right to donate and to deductions for donating to elections, but all donations should go into a common public fund to be divided equally by those qualified candidates for the particular races at hand. NO EXCEPTIONS, No other funding from any private or other foundations should be allowed. The Media should be required to give equal time to each candidate. No member of congress should be allowed to meet with any lobbyist for any corporation or other entity without the presence of the peoples lobby to represent the publics interests, so all sides of any issue can be heard and considered. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The point for this public funding would be to totally end the corrupt buying of influence in decision making of our government leaders. Think of how different things would be if our politicians weren't dependent on their funders. They would be far more likely to vote in the peoples interests rather than for the interests of their backers. All politicians would be put on a level playing field which would allow the real truth in each issue to come forth and not be drowned out by money bought and paid for distractions used to change outcomes. The Public is stupid to not demand change in some form to drasticly change the corrupt condition of our politics. While this idea may seem Utopean, don't underestimate what changes the public can bring about by coming together behind an issue. Ultimately Dems, Repubs, Libertarians and Teabaggers would come out winners wouldn't we ? What do you think ? Do you have any ideas to change our election process that would work ? Now the election process is a complicated ineffective FARCE
