I have slight acne scarring on my cheeks and other than that quite a lot of pigmintation due to freckles, so I have been looking into peels to help resurface my face and even on the skin tone and generally smooth it out. So, one of the more extensive facial peels is called a Green Peel. It is quite intrusive on the skin for a peel and apparently takes quite a bit of recovery time ( about a week ) but the upside is the results are quite dramatic. Has anyone else tried this particular peel and if so what they thought of it and their results ?

Visit a dermatologist before doing anything radical at home.

Here is a youtube video of said green peel procedure from Today Tonight. As you can see it is quite drastic but the results are fantastic if it is done right

realselfGreen peel was NOT worth it: Painful, expensive, and doesn't give good results
Savvyskin Las Vegas Oct 14, 2007 Cost: $15,000 Pain: Severe
I have not personally had a green peel, but worked at a Medical Spa for a year, and saw probably 50 clients get the herbal green peel. We recommended a series of three treatments, a month apart. I did not see one customer that was happy with their results, and most of them said the pain was extreme. Several different estheticians performed the peels, so I don't think the problem was with the technician, but with the peel itself. It's also an expensive treatment, and I didn't see anyone with improved acne scars, hyperpigmentation, or overall improvement in their skin.

With the Green Peel though it is one of those really 'drastic' peels and so you really have to go to a professional and certified dermatologist to get the best results. Also, like any peel, you may have to get more than one in order to get the desired results. It does work and am saving up to get at least one try of it to see how well it does, but from what I read and what everyone else is saying it is basically one of the best peels to get an istant and drastic result.
