In Flamed Achilles

    I have a in flamed Achilles does anyone have a suggestion on how to treat this. Doctor just has me keeping a wrap on it and I have done that for like a month. It has gotten alittle better but thought maybe someone has another suggestion.

    Stretch it out and wrap it up.
    Ice it as much as possible but giving it atleast 2 hours in between.
    Try to message it to reduce swelling and workout any knots.
    No more running, avoid stairs, if possible try swimming.
    Also, take an anti-inflammatory when needed.

    Yes, stretch your calves or have them released by a clinical massage therapist. The calves (your gastrocnemius and soleus) actually merge together along with another muscle (plantaris) to form the achilles tendon which attaches those muscles to the bottom of your heel...think of it almost as an achor. When those get tight or locked, they're going to pull up on the anchor. You can have all the wraps, anti-inflammatories and ice in the world, but if you don't address the cause, you'll never be fully rid of the problem.
