So if you are an avid gamer, I'm sure you know about the new Call of Duty that was released today. My roommate pre-ordered it we both went to pick it up at midnight. As I'm driving, a deer runs out it the middle of the road and I hit it. The deer actually went on top of my car's hood and flipped off. The fucker got up and ran off. Here is the damage the thing caused:

Thankfully that's all the damage the deer caused and she didn't shatter the windshield

After about an hour of getting the police there and filling out the report, we were able to pick up the game hahah. All this for a game that isn't even mine. Hope you all enjoy playing it and hope that your game pick up was not as eventful as mine.

I'm like the only person I know who's not getting it. Sorry but I feel like I'm all call of duty-ied out after modern warfare 2. I don't want to lose another 6 months of my life a game that will probably be broken anyways. Broken.. and addicting.

Yeah, I pre-ordered mine on Amazon and had it delivered to my door. No chance of running into deer (although, we don't really have deer here anyway). LOL. Hope the car is OK.

How are you liking the game so far? I think it's all right, but definitely no MW2. The game play is a lot more interesting than whatever story they're trying to develop in the movies.

That's how I feel.. I'm not even typically a fan of such games, but I tried Modern Warfare 2 I think it was. It was the one that had the awesome level where you casually terrorize a mall. I just wanted to play a game that had 1080p as I'd just recently figured out how to unleash full HD (not very tech savvy and I had my PS for a year before I realized that the PS3 alone didnt make the games HD..so I got the television and the hdmi cable). Anyway, it looked great and was surprisingly fun.. but I feel that once you've played one game from that genre then you've played them all. I reckon the pull is the online multiplayer mode.

Don't feel bad, there a lot of information out there that can be pretty confusing if you're not really into it. I would agree that they are all largely the same game. There are way too many shooters that are exactly the same, at least those in the sci-fi genre have interesting weapons. Plus, I can't get that excited about it when I know a new one is going to be announced in 6 months and released next November. I wouldn't be surprised if it was modern warfare 3.

yeah the multiplayer is what gets you.

you can finish the campaign on easy/normal in an hour or three, and then spend six months playing multiplayer.

And you can call your car a killing machine. I'm sure the deer is likely dead by now, even if it did run off.

I'm kind of excited to get it soon, but I heard a few people say it was shitty. I'm waiting to see if the online trend sticks to ModernWarfare2, or switches over to black ops before I buy one.

That's shitty about your car.. It probably won't happen, but I hope your buddy offers to help with the deductible. Especially if the trip was something he asked you to do.

I have to agree with holyrood... as soon as I finished the campaign in MW2, I went and shot up an airport. WAY better in real life.

I'm holding out, still. I haven't had a TV in about 6 months, so my PS3 has been sitting in a box, taking a much-needed break from many hours of older Call Of Duty games. Those were really the only games I played on it for the majority of the time I've had the console. I'm really itching to play Black Ops.

Got it at Hastings....not a deer in sight...man, you gotta try this game in 3d. It really adds to the sense of realism, and makes the game feel more natural.

It has incredible, natural depth to it...with the scenes appearing to recede into the television. As far as I played (maybe 15 minutes...or 2 hours) there were no obnoxious 3D effects where stuff flies 'at you'.
The 3D makes the games easier, and more intuitive to navigate...this really is the future of gaming.

To the OP....it could be worse, much worse. Every year people die in accidents involving deer.
Several years ago on my way home from work at night at 60 mph, one jumped up from the weeds in the borrow pit and right into my lane. I hit it right between the headlights and it smashed both of them and the front half of my truck, totaling it. (I was unhurt.)
The deer faired worse. The collision broke it's back two legs completely off and broke the front ones, twisting them several times at the break before throwing it into the ditch on the far side of the road.
As the officer filled out the Police report, we heard rustling in the far borrow pit and he shinned his light over to reveal the Terminator deer crawling out of the weeds on it's twisted, bloody, broken nubs. The officer pulled ou this gun (the one in the holster) and ended its misery.
I asked the officer if I could keep the deer, and he said no. I wanted to have the head mounted...eyes wide open...jaw dropped down....
Geico bought me a new truck the next day...sending an agent out to the dealership to write a check.

Black Ops is a pretty good game. The zombie part of it definitely made it waaaaay better....and harder icon_sad.gif
