Does anyone else watch this show? I found myself completely addicted after i started watching it. It seems like every end of an episode has some sort of shocking event that makes you want to watch the next episode. I really like the character depth and complex storyline. I highly recommend it. Im still on season 2 but its getting wild. Let me know what yall think

BornFree saidI love the show. The books are better

I like that even though I've read the books, the show is different enough to keep me guessing what's going to happen next. They did a great job veering far away from the novels' story lines.

I do, and thank goodness for Netflixx. I agree, every time you think you have something clear or you think a character is going, wham!...another angle I was not expecting in the story line.

With each season I wanna reach into the TV and yank out the next episode a week before it airs. Even when a couple of the storylines veer dangerously close to lamedome, the writers have been keen enough to make it pan out ijn the end, getting rid of what didn't work so well. and the way a coule of the actors have developed their characters are genious. --Nelson Ellis as Lafayette; Brilliant! And Deborah Ann Woll, who's character (Jessica) grated on my nerves a bit too much at first; perfection. Without wanting to leak a spoiler, I AM still wondering if they will bring back, at some point this next season, someone from season #1 who I went a bit weak-kneed for. Ooo, sexxxy. icon_twisted.gif

    5ebastian said^ is season 3 better than season 2?

I bought the bluray sets and watched the first couple episodes of season 3. It just became so got damn rediculous.

Season two brought about the crazy and dropped half the entertainment- Season three does get a bit more extreme but at least it's enjoyable. I couldn't get enough of the Franklin/Tara relationship- it was a riot.
Unfortunately the season finale is a joke and won't leave you wanting more like every episode in season one.

S3 left me going "huh" a couple times. As for Franklin, ew, he grossed me out, but that was the point.

season 4 is based on the 4th book. more fae, increased powers. more withes. also someone we all know gets into their powers.

they already have a 5 year deal, so there will be a another season.

agreed Jessica (in the books is a cunt) is really gone a different road and i love it. everyone is perfectly cast. remember Alan ball loves politics and dark
so wait till you see next season.

I love it. it's one of my favorite shows. I actually bought the first season without knowing anything about it. I really like Anna Paquin, and I was instantly hooked. Season 3 wasn't as good, but it looks like season 4 will be good.

What? Witches? This show is really out there now... I know it's /based/ on the books but still- pull back a bit.

Witches are fully featured in the book series...they can't just omit them lol, they play a pretty big part in the story line.

I've loved it since the first episode. My partner and I quickly learned in Season 3 that we should not eat dinner while watching the show. It got too bloody and violent for him so I had to finish the season by myself.

OK, so you'll accept vampires, werewolves, Maenads and fairies, but witches is a step too far? Out of all of those things, witches are the only thing that definitely does exist (albeit the jury's out on whether they have magical powers!)

I love True Blood, it's fun, scary, violent and sexy, everything I want in a TV show. I would assume a big storyline of Season 4 will be the witch stuff seeing as the new waitress at Merlott's is a witch and Lafayette's bf is as well.

Plus I expect to see lots of naked Alcide, I MUST see his ass this time!

She's a witch? I thought she was just spiritual.

Well yeah! They keep introducing new characters with new 'abilities,' none of which are /normal/ humans- Week after week- bam bam bam- new creature of darkness.
Season one was great because it just focus on two- sookie and vampires- with a very brief shapeshifter moment.
It makes me wonder if Bon Temps is this centuries hellmouth.

Pull back- as in- develop the character that are already there instead of throwing one new thing after the next. The ending of season three was all over the place because of it. icon_cool.gif

ah, I agree with you on that - they do have so many characters in it now, it's difficult to spend long enough with any of them to develop really strong storylines!

Forgot also, Jason is likely gonna end up being a were-panther, and we don't know what the situation is with Arlene's baby - is it supernatural, how did it survive the ritual that was meant to abort it? So that's two other non-human angles.

I hope Tara remains human though.

I don't get the hype over this show, especially among some of my gay friends. Too much fantasy for my taste.

    Watch season one.

It's not as extreme as the rest because it basically just deals with vampires, along with some politics dropped in that basically parallels the gay-rights movement. Fang Banger.
The mystery/story arc in this season centers around murders- pretty normal stuff.
Light on supernatural and heavy on sex and gore.
Young Jason Stackhouse's butt... icon_redface.gif Although I'm more of a fan of Sam's brother though. Dreamy.
