The only thing those movies have going for them is Tilda Swinton as the White Witch. Those insipid, snivelling kids are unbearable.

Hahaha she is my favorite character, she plays the white which so well with her voice. I think the guy who plays Edmund and the older sister are horrible....

yeah i will have to agree on that, but the books are always better for any rendition of any movie though.. Its like harry potter, the books are better but the movie is good and not that bad.

It looks like they have changed the story substantially. Wasn't the White Witch killed in the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe?

Yeah...I think in the Dawn Treader/Prince Caspian book, there are like flashes of her, but nothing THIS big that they keep showing in previews.

Fox has done a much better job at marketing the series. Disney completely dropped the ball with the last one, such as trying to make it a summer blockbuster rather than going for a holiday release and changing the story to make it 'darker' and 'more grown up'. It looks as if this one gets back to the feeling of the books. I personally can't wait for this movie.

I loved the books when I was about 8 years old. It wasn't until my teens that I realised the underlying Christianity running through them. The Last Battle is a really disturbing book - all about the end of the world.

I would like to see them adapting The Silver Chair, that was my favourite. There again the Voyage of the Dawn Treader has lots of exciting episodes in it.

From what people have said who have seen the movie already (preview showings), the scenes with the White Witch are limited to the dream island, which makes sense, and she doesn't play a significant role at all. Tilda Swinton is such a good actress, though, so why wouldn't you use her when you could?
