Totally self-indulgant thread..... I finished my first 5K in years.
Nothing record breaking but I finished a lot faster than I thought and 12th in my age group! (granted there were only 21 but still...).
    13.1 here I come! icon_biggrin.gif

Today I did a local annual event called the Misery Run: 6 miles of mixed single track trails and cross country on a big farm just outside of town. To add to the fun were two big hay bale barriers on each of the three loops, a big mud pit and an 8-foot high pile of cow manure that everyone had to run across. Don't know what my official time/place was, and didn't care. Just good muddy fun on a beautiful fall day.

That sounds awesome, a great day!
I recently heard about the Warrior Dash, a similar obstacle course, which I definitely plan to do.

16.5 miles in beautiful weather above freezing with a warm hint of a breeze. We should have easily had snow a month ago...not yet! Yay!

    Thanks Briefs!

I am deciding between the ING Miami on 1/30 or the A1A here in Fort Lauderdale on 2/20.
I have a 12 week training plan and if I am ready I would prefer to do the ING Miami for different scenery, The conservative me feels like I should allow the few extra weeks for the A1A.

    Any thoughts/advice is welcome!
