Being a bit open-minded, Ive been curious to attend some of the workshops offered by this organization:

    http://www.thebodyelectricschool.com/

I think it would be great to combine spiritualism with eroticism and would love to see their ideas. Has anyone gone to anything like this before? Is it more than a group of guys just looking for a reason to grope each other?

I haven't taken any of the courses but know a number of people who have. It's not just an excuse for getting off, they do have a legitimate reason for being. Personally, I don't think I'd be a good candidate because you are expected to be intimate with the other men in the class (touching, holding, kissing etc., I don't think there is full on anal sex and stuff happening there), regardless of whether you think they are sexy or not. I wouldn't want to get paired with a guy that I wasn't attracted too, I don't think it would be fair to the other guy, and I am not sure how I would react either.

I've known a few people here in seattle that have taken similar classes although they flat out and told me it was an "edging" or a "flogging" class. The names on that website is pure bullshit and giving the names they give is just sugar coating a lot of things..

Personally, and this is my own opinion ( by no means should to agree with it) i don't think people need these kind of classes.

But also in the same breathe and when i think harder about it, there are those that are really interested and want to go deeper into that type of thing. I guess having classe on say "flogging" is a good thing because you don't want to end up breaking a bone or having someone suffer a ruptured disc or something.. I'm more vanilla anyhow so i don't really understand that whole scene.. Also, i'm by no means judging anyone that does infact like that scene.. to each their own. I'm merely stating that i do not understand it and it's not for me.

Type of guys there and what they do. Nudity is present- they aren't 'naked' but 'nude.'

It doesn't seem bad. They guys might be... but what they do is just...

I was invited to go on one of their week long seminars and same as you i went with an open mind. First off they make you take a vow of chasity during the seminar and no jacking off either so it's not exactly sexual in nature. I really enjoyed the naked yoga but thought most of everything else was for guys that have sexual / intimacy / body image problems. If you are a hot guy that does not have any problem hooking up with other solid hot guys / partners regularly I don't think you will learn much.

I went to the Osho commune in Puna,India once as a guest of a member. They believe in spiritual enlightenment through sexual contact. I looked around and decided there was nobody there I wanted to be enlightened by so I caught the next train to Bombay.

I think this is designed for people who have issues with sexual expression, especially with self-image and their bodies.

(And ... not to be weird, but ... I seriously hope you don't have an issue with your body ... cause it's RIDICULOUS. icon_wink.gif )

A friend of mine goes to swinger parties with her husband, and she said that, by far, the most common profession for people to be in at those parties is the health profession. Nurses, doctors, physical therapists ... they see bodies all the time in all different forms, so ... the shame stigma is just worn away. (I know 3 years of chiropractic school with palpation labs, cadaver dissection, and clinical work did it for me.)

So for people with issues in self-expression and body image, I say go for it. I would only do something like this with a partner I trusted though. I'm not a fan of random people touching me. :-P

Honestly, I have lots of body issues. I grew up Mormon! We are taught to be shamed by everything. So in turn, I am very awkward sexually but I know there is this sexual being that is waiting to break free.

I think the whole point is for your to break free of your walls and barriers, including those to which you are attracted too and just open up your sexual energy.

Well, shit. I'll help you with that. There's no need to go to a group. Lol. icon_rolleyes.gif
