Hey guys. I have a bit of research that I want to conduct on some of the different student activities organizations at select universities in the US, and I figure that RJ might be a good place to start.

At my university, our student activities organization is looking into improving the caliber of speaker(s) that we bring to campus every year. Last year we brought RFK, and this year we brought Soledad O'Brien. These public figures are of pretty good quality for a speaker event, but we are looking at setting the bar a bit higher by considering speakers that are a step up from this. Examples would include Conan O'Brien/Colbert/Stewart, a famous actor/actress/singer, Lance Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Maya Angelou, Anderson Cooper..

In order to get this process started, I am going to be doing some research into the schools below, and the speakers that they have brought to campus in the past couple of years. If any of you fellas have attended one of these universities and can give me some names of the most notable speakers who have given presentations or lectures at these universities, I would be grateful for the information:

I'm sure you're way ahead of me here, but I did find stuff like this that might be useful:

    For basic info:

I think your mission is awesome. Speakers can have a powerful effect on people, and there is nothing like seeing someone up close and personal as opposed to just on a youtube video or movie.

Something you might want to do is try to anticipate what might be "hot" this coming year. If it becomes hot, and you miss the boat, you might not be able to get the speaker because everyone will already be after them. You could check to see what movies are coming out this year or what political activities are coming up.

I'll think on some ideas for potential speakers and get back to you.
