Hey gentlemen. So I'm just wondering if any NYC guys have any advice on ways to meet good people here in NYC even just for friends, of course a date with a good guy is always nice. I've lived here for 2.5 years and for 2 years I lived by JFK since I'm a Flight Attendant and of course that was a damper on a social life. I'm still in the airline gig but live a little bit closer to Manhattan in Queens and just wonder if I should give some other stuff a try to meet some cool people. I've tried various online sites for awhile and it just never seems to go anywhere. Thanks for any perspectives or comments you may have on the topic.

Describe what you mean by "seems to go nowhere".

By seems to go nowhere I mean that I may send messages with no response or maybe banter back once or twice. We may even chat but this never spurs to a real world Meetup. I understand that ultimately they aren't interested in friendship or dating so ideally I'd like to scrap the Internet.

Join a meet up group, alumni group, trade group, or other hobby/sports organization. It's the best way to establish yourself as a local. There are also certain areas in the city where just sitting at a cafe or small restaurant may strike up a conversation. I would recommend: Williamsburg (Brooklyn), East Village, and/or Nolita.

    1. The gym is a great place to meet people...you can start a dialogue about workouts and build on that.

    2. Don't watch "The A-List," on LOGO and think that it's all NYC gay culture has to offer!!!! icon_rolleyes.gif
