    Hi all,

I'm tired of using my iPod with my old PC so I want to start using it with my new PC. I know how to transfer iTunes libraries from computer to computer but the difficulty I'm having is that all my music is on an external hard drive, so the music is going to stay in the same place.

The problem I can't wrap my head around is how to get my playlists and everything into the new iTunes library. All the forums tell you how to transfer everything from an old computer to a new computer, but as I mentioned, it's all staying on the external hard drive.

I hope this makes sense (brain = friend) and thanks in advance.

This probably isn't the 'best' response

but I've had to do this before and I just moved every media file from the old itunes folder to the new folder and manually did 'add folder to library' and since it's already in the new itunes folder it wont make a duplicate copy.

and playlists can be dragged the same way.

Hopefully someone will be able to give you better advice..but this worked for me.

When opening iTunes, hold the Control Key down. It will then allow you to set up a new library which you can point iTunes to.
