She reminds me my late grandmother. She is always my favorite grandmother. She sends clear her message to Sarah Palin to stay Alaska.

CNN) – Sarah Palin may not have the biggest fan in former first lady Barbara Bush.

"I sat next to her once. Thought she was beautiful," Barbara Bush said. "And she's very happy in Alaska, and I hope she'll stay there."

Bush, along with her husband, former President George H.W. Bush, spoke to CNN's Larry King in an interview set to air Monday.

President Bush discussed the Tea Party movement, and although he said "some of the ideas make a lot of sense," he said he isn't sure how the new movement will fit into the larger political landscape.

The former first couple also talked about their son, former President George W. Bush's new book, "Decision Points."

"I loved the book," Barbara Bush said. "I thought it was very frank. He's not trying to write a biography, he's trying to tell how it is in the White House."

Her husband agreed that it was "good" and "from the heart."

"I think he's done a good job selling the darn thing, he's been out there all over the place," the former president said.

You know even though her last name is Bush, I have to agree, she is a classy old gall. She's like any typical old lady who says what she thinks about the likes of Palin, Now I like her even better !!! Thumbs up to you Granny Bush !!!!

OH Damn !!! JPrichva, I had no idea she'd made such a statement, nor that such opinions of those who should know existed. I take everything back except that she's right about Palin !!! Leave her out in Alaska.

And then there was the time she was asked what she thought of Geraldine Ferraro and replied, "I can't say it, but it rhymes with rich." Very classy.

On the weekend political shows I saw a few Republicans grumbling about Sarah Palin saying she may not be qualified or ready to be president. I understand their reasoning. They sense a chance to take back the White House in 2012, but don't believe Palin is the one that can make that happen. And they are probably right. However, I think they may be playing this wrong. They are already cutting her down before she is officially running. When you have old established Republicans speaking out against her it is probably just increasing her 'outsider' appeal and making her look even more 'mavericky' and increasing the chance she could get the nomination. Obama supporters would love it. They would probably do better to just not speak about her and collectively put their support behind another candidate.

jprichva saidThis is the woman who said, of the desperate people taking refuge from Hurricane Katrina in the Houston Astrodome:

" so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."

    This is what you admire?

Richard Nixon, in one of the Oval Office recordings released a couple of years ago, said of Barbara Bush, "Now there's a woman who really knows how to hate."

If Richard Nixon admires your prowess at hatred, that's like winning the Academy Award.

    She is a horrible person.

    Indeed.
    But Babs is no dummy.
She knows what a threat Palin is to the Repub's chances in 2012.
Palin wants to be the Repub nominee.
And if she gets pushed out and blocked by the lamestream Repub party - she'll run as a third party "Tea Party" candidate.

Either way - Obama wins in a walk.
