I'm thankful that I have a home and that I'm not broke and that I'm in pretty good health.

So many people are suffering with cancer, AIDS, etc.
So many people are homeless, or live with people they hate.
So many people have lost just about everything in the George W. Bush Great Depression.

    I'm lucky.

I'm thankful that I have friends.
I'm thankful that I live where it doesn't snow.
I'm thankful that I live in one of the gayest cities in the world (San Francisco).

Thankful that my private life began when I came out. I had a military career, that I truly loved, but no personal life at all -- few friends, little socializing or interests beyond the shared military mission.

Then I came out, and all at once I had a real LIFE! Now I have many friends, all kinds of interests, a wonderful & happy world, what I never had before.

Homosexually speakin', I've never been happier in my life. I think we're happiest when we're doing what we were born to do. If we're straight, then live straight. If we're gay, then live gay.

Our biggest mistake is when we live in the wrong world, as I once did. Now I'm in the right world, for which I'm incredibly thankful. My main criticism of myself is -- why did it take so long? icon_confused.gif

with the exception of the last point (as I live in NYC - and it does snow here) I would re-iterate everything Webster666 had to say... and add...

    - that I'm continuously thrilled to find guys still find me attractive despite my age, particular tastes, and odd proclivities. icon_razz.gif

... and I have a loving, intelligent family
    - amazingly cool/interesting friends
    - and can sing a melody very much on pitch

My life is FAR from perfect - but things could be far FAR worse. icon_cool.gif

I'll be thankful the moment people start rueing the day they decided to participate in such a gluttonous affair.

I fucking hate the holidays! icon_evil.gif
    They ruin my gym hours.
    Bastards.

Agreed! I don't really get into holidays, so it's really an inconvenience.

Giving thanks to things from a gay perspective - it's an interesting slant on the holiday!

    Here goes:

    1) Family and friends. Their love and support continues to suprise me.

    2) Life experience and lessons learnt. Good or bad - what would you be without them..

3)My health and the health of the environment around me. Good to see that the drought here (Australia) has finally broken and the earth is returning to green!

    GAY THINGS.

Those who have fought and died to make the world I ( and maybe you) live in more tolerant. Those who have battled abuse and prejudice to fight for my equality and right to participate in society.

I am thankful that my country no longer kills, imprisons or discriminates against gays but acknowledge this isn't the case in the majority of the world.

I am thankful to those people who are fighting against all injustice and hatred around our world!

This - minus the prior military career. Although being married felt like 16 years of boot camp!

Most thankful though, that I have two great kids that are healthy, happy, smart and amazing! (this section is NOT homosexually speaking, it's proud parent speaking)
