So I have been working on my Turkey Trot 5k for two months now and finally ran today. My last best time was 21:21 on track and 22:39 in actual race. Today as per my stopwatch I did 18:58 and felt really proud of it.
I esp felt nice since had a few tough days recently and this made me feel like things are getting normal again. But only till the results were displayed. They had no record of my time icon_sad.gif. They over registered people than what they had expected and thus things fell apart, with quite a few people loosing their time or recorded wrong time. Now the person who is on first place in my age ran in 19:57.
I feel a bit mad and a bit sad that this was the first time I was so close to winning by putting everything I had in me and it happened. Worst part is I won't be running again until next summers as winters take a big toll on my knees if I run.
I did tell them about this and they said they will be fixing results tonight as they had received a lot of complaints and to check back on their website tomorrow.
I know my dad would have felt so proud to see that trophy in my hand and that makes me even more sad.
Sorry guys for putting it on you guys but felt a need to let it out.
Has this happened with any of you? Were the results fixed?

Not for each age group, but overall yes. I had better time than a lot of people so had a good chance of making it. But now no idea where I stood.

I haven't experienced it yet, but I am at the age where I don't care if I win anything but I do like competing.

I wouldn't have cared so much, but this was my First time and I wanted it to be the way I had dreamed about it. icon_cry.gif

And am still talking about winning in a 5k run.

Sorry to hear that, that's got to be frustrating.

Either way, you know your time and how well you did, take pride in that. Great job! Congratulations.

ARGH! That's infuriating. I'm SO sorry for their disorganization. I know that's no consolation, but you should be really incredibly proud of yourself. And, there's always next year.
