Any RJ members on here Bar Bouncers or formerly Bar Bouncers? Did you often go home with patrons from the bars? Do Bar Bouncers at gay bars typically have the same persona and stereotype as Bar Bouncers at straight bars?

It all depends on the person who is the bar bouncer. Some bar bouncers are quite friendly while some of them are belligerant jerks.

I tend to not like bouncers that much due to bad experiences (probably my fault). When I was 16 I got punched (not violently) in the stomach because I ran into a bar without showing ID. As kids we'd always develop a sort of dislike for them because they were ultimately the people that won't let us in or kick us out if we got caught.

A few weeks ago, I went to a gay bar and got a bit offended because I walked to the bouncer to show my ID and he was like 'mate, you know this IS a gay bar right?' and I was like 'er...yes!'. That actually fucked me off a bit.

The toughest bar bouncer at a gay club I visited for 6 years wasn't even gay - she was a lesbian. And no, I don't think she went home with any of the gay patrons, and certainly not with me. icon_razz.gif

I have worked at a Club here in DC for 3 years. Most of the bouncers were strait and only a few are gay. I think it depends on the bar and what a bar/clubs mission is when it comes to dealing with it's customers.
