After all these years I'm finally getting a tattoo

It's just a sun pattern on my back with some plans to add
    on in the future icon_eek.gif

    Who thinks tattoos are hot?

    Not I.

They're not bad if only one or two and properly located. It is when they start to take over the body that I seriously question the person's judgment.

Depends on the tattoo, the placement and the guy for me.

I like tattoos that are more original and unique.

it's like any accessory to me, if it's not tacky, if you don't have 20 others, 10 piercings, 4 rings, a necklace, that's alright...but that is just my opinion...and then again some guys are totally covered and look freaking hot... my point is i have no idea what my point is...oh yeah i think it depends on the whole package (you + tatoo)...woof i'm exhausted icon_biggrin.gif

Good for you to plan on getting a tattoo..but do me a favor, and yourself....get something that is uniquely you.......i~m bored with the same old same old. If you have no connection to celtic, gothic asian or any other culture, why put it on your body?...and please dont get that typical arm band thing...good luck

shambles "you have no connection to celtic, gothic asian or any other culture, why put it on your body?..."

What kind or level of connection would a person need to satisfy you? Why would someone get a different tattoo because you're bored of seeing arm bands?
I like asian culture and buddhism so I have some chinese symbols (and no they don't mean 'sweet and sour pork').
I say if you like it, get it. It's on your body.

I think tattoos on a nice body are kind of hot and can give a guy a kind of edgy look. I could look at them all day. I don't think I could get one though because I would always want to change it like I am always changing.

i've had a loooong running conversation with myself about this -- no tats yet, but i'm very interested. my bf has 2 which are totally sexy and yes, edgy. for me, i change my mind a lot and it worries me that i'd come to regret it or just wish i had a different design. i think the best placement is upper arm (bicep or shoulder), lower back or between shoulders. then maybe an anklet?
i like tribally-celticy-asiany designy looks, but i also like the idea of designing my own image and then i like the idea of an image based on my screen name, evilgemini, but what would that look like?
as you can tell i've done so much thinking about this i doubt i'll ever go through with it!icon_lol.gif

final thought: has anyone heard of a new type of ink that can be lasered off in one sitting, instead of the many, painful attempts with regular ink?

    good luck gq jock!

I love tattoos myself. I only have 2 with plans on getting more and eventually sleeves maybe. Who cares what people think about them, and they can't really say anything about it anways, it's your body, do with it as you please!

    Yes, they are hot.

    My Tattoo is flesh coloured.

It can only be seen when I've been out in the sun too long...icon_cool.gif

Not I either. Nothing ruins a hot body faster than a tattoo. It seems that tattoos are now the "thing to do". Everybody has one, which must really piss off the true tattoo lovers.

My ex, the guy I spoke about above, has a tattoo that covers the entire left side of his face and neck. It was done in black light ink so it was only visible in black light. Most tattoo artists won't use it, it's highly carcinogenic.

Gotta say ditto. GQ, you're so hot you don't need a tattoo.

Maybe I'm just plain boring ... but I think tattoes on a nice body detract from what would otherwise be a delight to behold.

That said, it is your body and you are entitled to do whatever you wish with it.

I have to weigh in on the negative side. I'm not a fan of tattoos.

I must admit tattoos are a bit of a turn off for me. As long as they are small and tastefully done they are not bad, but when they cover a large part of the body? No thanks. I feel sorry for young people today. In about 50 years in the old folks homes there will be all these wrinkly people with tattoos. Very unattractive.

some small tatts could be hot, depends on the guy and the image. just keep in mind they usually look really nasty on old people once their skin is wrinkly. i hope you have good moisturizing techniques.
