Have you taken any of your "virtual online meetings" with RealJockers to "In Real Life"?

If so, with whom? And, how did it go?

I'll start. A couple of weeks ago I have the opportunity to have lunch with "Clodel" in San Francisco. We had a great lunch and had real conversation.

Over Thanksgiving, I was honored to be able to share time at "The Del" with Ciarsolo!

    Photobucket

After so many email and skype conversations, it was great getting to hang out with him and my extended family. We had breakfast, ice cream, smores at the beach with the the kids, a phenomenal dinner, and just some quiet time at the pool discussing art, music, culture, and of course...Real Jock. Ciarsolo made quite a positive contribution to the extended family's Thanksgiving time together. I'm so grateful he accepted the invitation to share time.

Both of these experiences have reinforced my belief that if you can take the "virtual online community" and link it to "In Real Life" meetings, you can develop friendships that are meaningful and with "connection".

How about you? What are your experiences in meeting other RJ members "In Real Life"?

I lost count of who and how many people I've met from online.
Probably just 10 or so from RJ, but well over 300 on a professional basis from another site.

Have met 8 from RJ in person, including the OP. Met lots more from other sites since the 1990s, especially AOL when I spent time in the gay chat rooms there (I no longer have an account).

All the experiences were very good, haven't met a phony or loser yet, even their stats and pics of themselves were honest.

Haven't met meninlove yet, but we've both chatted with them, and they have an open invitation to stay with us in Florida (provided they bring their own shoehorn).

I have been on this site over 3 years and have met ONE other RJ guy....and that was by accident...not planned at all. He was a professional dancer at a gay club in Columbus, called "The EXILE"...a leather and Bear bar....sadly I have not seen himt on RJ.....He had a true dancer's body...very lean and muscular, and lots of great tats and was HUNG! DAMN! He got a fair amount of tips out of me that night! LOL!
I do see a couple of guys at my gym that are on here and they are new to RJ...but they have been really distant and a bit "stand-off-ish"...So I haven't made the leap yet from virtual to reality, or not very often or well....AND I WANT TO!icon_rolleyes.gif

Reach out and make the invites, Sporty. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant. It can be just meeting for a cup of coffee.

    Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I know you can do it!

    Hugs!

Alas I can only say what a positive influence Miguel was in my life and that I shall forever, Alan, be envious of something I have missed......Keith

I see nothing wrong about nudity. As long asthere is a BBQ too, I mean lakes and BBqs go so well together!
