I did. Sore muscles changed that thought. Now I can't be stupid with weights after a break or changing a routine. I need to back off or pay the price.

I did, until when I was 16 and out at midnight, this guy did a running punch into my face and I got stunned to the ground. He then took off and I staggered back home. I told my parents that someone elbowed me in the face whilst I was out clubbing...even though I had a massive black eye the next day lol.

Before that incident, I was a lippy, rude, manipulative, confused individual who tried to gain power over anyone and everyone. That night I prayed long and hard to God and re-asserted my faith in Him. Sometimes you have to deviate from your path in order to find out what's really out there and learn from it. I was lucky to only have been punched and nothing more serious.

yeah, I really thought I was and I did a lot of amazing things that most people just sit and dream about. I do still for the most part, you only have one life. Whats the worse that can happen...die...still at least you lived while you were alive.

...at 18 I was never wrong, had ALL the answers to any question and never planned on aging or ever having any problems...you are "invincible"! LOL!!....and then you start wishing your self a bit forward in time to like 21, so you can drink, and then 25 so you can graduate from college and get a real job and never have to work with unfair idiots and be old enough to have your car insurance rates start to drop and be old enough to rent a car, and then 30 so you could run for certain political offices and then a few years more forward so that my kids would get past the multiple morning wake-ups for diaper changes and feeding and just being cranky.....and then forward....etc...you get the idea....along the way you realize that all that time you wished your self forward into will never come back and you start to want time to slow down and let you linger in some of the more fun moments, so you don't have to face the eventual loss of your parents, siblings and other family and friends, and don't have to think about did I fund my retirement well enough?, do I need a living will and other "end of life orders"......etc...funny...I learned a long time ago that no one is invincible and no one is always right...and I am OK with that......icon_cool.gif

Hmm... one time that comes to mind was when a friend and I became convinced that a certain inaccessible cove would be a great dive site. We rappelled down an 80-foot cliff in full dive gear (using a cheap waterski rope from the nearest hardware store) got beat to hell on the rocks by the surf getting in and out, and... almost didn't get back up that cliff, even after ditching the dive gear.

But you know, that sort of lesson fades away after a few weeks.

I never felt invincible. Shit in my childhood never let me believe that.

I'd have to feel safe at some point in order to even pretend I was invincible.
