"The red and white trunks feature elements of Singapore's national flag, five stars and a crescent moon jutting up from the groin, leaving a somewhat unfortunate impression."

Singapore needs to lighten up. I think they look rather fetching myself.

I can understand the controversy, especially considering a country like Singapore. To the team's defense, it's hard to know how a suit will look when it's worn while it's being designed. They should have shifted everything over to the right just a little bit.

That being said, I personally have no problem with the current design. In fact, I think it looks pretty good, too.

That's actually on the conservative side as far as water polo suits, if not regulation. If it's where the moon on the flag is, they could have opted for something else.

Oh big deal! They are cute. It's not like dicks normally curve that way or are attached to the male left leg!

Nutty christians are behind this... if not they should be lol.

More than likely it is the muslims this time: the crescent moon is a symbol of Islam.

For those so curious, from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Singapore :

According to an account given by Lee Kuan Yew, the Chinese population wanted five stars, which were modeled off the flag of the People's Republic of China and the Muslim population wanted a crescent moon. Both of these symbols were combined to create the national flag of Singapore.

And having it drawn about over where the male member might drift to... well.

Don't want an errant penis insulting Islam now, no?

But I find it rather delightful.

Especially the hunk in the #3 swim cap in the pic the OP posted.. I'd love to take him home. icon_biggrin.gif

And having "SIN" written on the caps says what?

Sounds like a major marketing opportunity with all this free publicity. Imagine what would happen if guys in these suits started showing up at lap pools all over the world.

I see nothing wrong or offensive with these water polo swimbriefs. Singapore is just too conservative for its own good. I am surprised that they are not wearing the stupid jammers like the US.
