I ate a hamburger bun for the first time in ages after going grain-free a few months ago.

Searing headache, fire stomach, lethargy were my symptoms, which are the same symptoms I get from drinking white wine/champagne/organic or microbrewed beer/most red wine.

Not sure about the wine... But everything else sounds like gluten issues

I've been grain-free for the last few months, so I feel like that (grain) could have something to do with it.

It could be unrelated, but the symptoms are the same. I'm guessing it could be yeast and/or grain.

Red wine can cause headaches in sensitive individuals. Other foods that can precipitate headaches are chocolate, caffeine, foods rich in the amino acid tyramine, the food additives monosodium glutamate and sulfites., High fat diets can also cause headaches. Some unfortunate individuals get headaches with any alcoholic beverageicon_cry.gif

Tyramine rich foods include soy, beer, aged cheese, some processed meats, ripe bananas and avodados.

I have been dealing with celiacs disease since I was a child and your symptoms do tend to suggest some form of gluten intolerance. Because gluten is very difficult to get away from in most foods it is unlikely that you do have celiacs disease.

In the gym I train at many of the athletes are on the Paleo diet in which all grains are eliminated. I know that when people do introduce grains for the first time they typically get sick with the vomiting and headaches.
