Higher Mercury "Causes" Homosexuality in Birds

So I was reading the news on BBC today and there was this study where they fed birds food contaminated with higher levels of mercury. They found that mercury influences hormone levels, and that this also appears to cause a higher incidence of homosexuality. The more mercury ingested, the higher the probability of displaying homosexual behavior. I was wondering what you guys thought of this. Obviously it's just in a species of birds, but still shows a certain degree of environmental factors affecting an animal's sexuality (I've been more inclined to the nature than nurture arguments for homosexuality).

It's in Spanish but I'm sure there's a similar version of the story in English, just don't have time to find it right now.
